2 year bump since Barnhill is having a basketball event. Stories of the place give me chills on the atmosphere that was Barnhill arena.
Musselman is doing an excellent job of embracing the past but also preparing for the future.

I wish everyone here were old enough to see this in action. Barnhill and Robken were something that simply cannot be described. The noise meter, William Tell, the sprint around the arena. "We're Gonna Beat Tha Hell Outta You!"

I'm damn sure old enough to remember it. Saw Ted Nugent there in 1977 FWIW.

It was magical in the Barn, long lines for tickets, the place rocked. Absolutely the best venue in the SWC.

And then there was Barnhill South, Reunion Arena.

Damn shame that Mike couldn't capture that vibe but a coach that grew up out west gets it..

See ya'll on Oct. 5 You know that place will be packed.

I was there. It was a great atmosphere at Barnhill. And we were actually pretty good at basketball back then.

If you weren’t alive to see Robken do the sprint to William Tell you missed a magical time.
That was the hottest ticket in town

What’s even better we’re the 1030 replays on KFSM

Was there for the UNLV game, I was there for the last game with LSU, and I was there for many others.

One of my favorite memories was the PG for a visiting team threw up an airball in the first couple minutes. Students chanted "AIRBALL" everytime he touched the ball. Got in his head bigtime. He had 3 T.O. in about 90 seconds, and got benched the rest of the game.

Then there was the 11AM Saturday game where I should have been thrown out for abusing the ref that was maybe 10 feet from me for half the game. Good times!

Robken was great!

Sutton got oSu to hire him somehow, how that ever was allowed was a disgrace.

Sutton played ball for "Mr. Iba" at Oklahoma A&M/oSu. And had a lot of friends there. But they still could not keep him away from the nectar.

At Barnhill you sat down only at halftime and (maybe) during timeouts (can't remember on that one). That place would get loud and raucous AF.

Bud Walton (now-a-days) is like a tea and crumpet luncheon, and Barnhill would be like sitting on the front row, right by the speakers at a Slayer concert.

Damn it Bert, I feel it too.

But the whole Barnhill experience including camping out for student tickets was great. It never was quite the same when the games started being played in Bud Walton.

Couldn't talk the day after a game at Barnhill's. Good times....
