More than a few have said if we didn't have a coach by Monday night it was panic time. Just hook us a coach for frick's sake. Not much more than 2 weeks left in the early recruiting period.

These folks have realized that they have to make a big hire. It's especially important on this cycle because of stadium expansion stuff. Hire has to be a big name and it can't fail. They have to get butts in seats and they have to win games. As I said awhile back, I wouldn't want to be the guy making this decision. It's a tough one.

No, I need to know now. I only have a little while early today to procrastinate & would like to be entertained while doing so by the inevitable melt of some disillusioned/delusioned fans who will surely be enraged regardless of the pick.

Yeah. I know the chances aren't that strong that my guy actually gets this job. Lol. Won't stop me from talking him up though, because I firmly believe he is our second best option behind Lane Kiffin.
If they could hire Morris and Venables both that would be very exciting. It could be sold that we just rebuilt the Clemson staff here.

I'll admit that I said that but I also expected other hires to happen more quickly. I'm not close to panic mode yet until I see some of the other jobs close with some potential candidates getting locked up.

Well, that's Kiffin or Leach, to the best of my knowledge. Don't know of any other splash hires out there. Then again, very few of us seem to know enough about what is actually going on, to tell shite from shinola.

I would imagine Leach isn't really a serious option. For one reason or another (a combination of a few reasons I think), big schools seem reticent to consider him seriously. He sued Texas Tech after leaving there, he abused players there, and he is a loose cannon with his words alone.
Hell, Tenner fired their AD for even attempting to hire him.
Personally I like Leach and think he could be really good here. If he were somehow able to land the job I would be excited. But I won't hold my breath.

He didn't abuse a player. They had him following concussion protocol. Do your research before you spew allegations like that. It was later proven that James blew the whole thing out of proportion.

The TT allegations were nothing. Craig James and his sons came out of that looking like primadonnas.

Oh. I admit I never followed up on any of that stuff.
But even if it isn't true, there is a reason he ended up at Washington State instead of a bigger program. I mean, it's public knowledge at this point that Tenner fired Currie for trying to hire Leach. Of course there were other factors at play there. Basically that Currie sucks arse, but they really did not like him talking to Leach.
Eh, like I said, I think the guy is a great coach and I would be excited if he got our job.
