At some point doesn’t someone have to be coach so they can put a staff together and go do some recruiting like activities? I’m all for being patient and getting the right guy but this is starting to get awkward.

It's gotta be soon. But I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't happen today either. I mean they just named their AD. I imagine they handed him a list of names and asked him which one he would stand behind if hired. That isn't an easy decision considering your job is tied to the success of any one of those guys.

Agree it's time, & also agree that it's starting to be awkward. Yes, the new AD was just hired, but no doubt, there were/are strong opinions among others with decision making clout about who the HC should be before he was hired. If it goes on past today with no announcement, I'll be strongly suspicious that there is some major disagreement about who it should be.

Nope. It generally causes people to try and use their money to stack the deck in their favor so they can make even more money.
At that point you're no longer looking out for the success of the program and would just as soon see it fail so long as you get to wield influence for a few years before it falls apart.
