All I know is we are in a better spot than any of the last 3 years so keep working on it.

The kids have a chance to get better, old Texas transfer is probably as good as he is going to get.

Raulerson just seems physically weak and still confused playing in this offense

I know the coaches have continually said they believe they have the best 5 out there, but I think there are some different ways to go about it. Both guard spots are weaknesses as a whole, but at least Froholdt is strong as a fricking bull and a masher in the run game, and he has the built-in excuse of still learning the position and offensive line play in general. Raulerson could barely get on the field for bad Texas teams with horrendous offensive lines.

Honestly, I feel like we're somewhat wasting Ragnow at center. He's our best lineman, so wish they'd kick him to RG and put Rogers at center. That way we'd have anchors on both sides and could make a bit better use of Ragnow's talent and athleticism.

Anybody have Bert's digits?

I felt like I saw them get to the second level a lot more tonight then even in the TCU game. I was very happy with a majority of the run blocking.

Also warmachine has highlights up already LINK

So is Mizzou our 6th win?

It's not about being negative. Our Oline still struggled. Did they play better?, yes. We ran the ball much better than we did in the previous 3 games. However, Ole Miss's Dline is not nearly as good as Auburns.

If we stick to calling short quick passes and spreading them out we will be fine. If we try to run into a brickwall like we've been doing on some occasions we will struggle.

Did you not watch the game?

Not pumping sunshine at all. FWIW in the predictions thread I have the AU game as a loss.

I think Enos will keep masking our deficiencies with the play calls while the OL improves.

Any chance we win 7 instead of 6.

The OL still whiffed on a lot of blocks last night and I saw Raulerson get man handled on a few occasions during the game. I do like what I have seen with Wallace and his improvement since he was inserted into the starting spot.

Overall, yes they have improved. I would like to see Enos run plays more out of the shotgun than with AA under center. That seems to get the kid a little more time on passing plays and also spreads the field which uncluttered the middle and makes it easier for AA to make his reads.

I think at a minimum we win 7. I do not like the Auburn game because of their Dline play, tempo, and running game. All things we have struggled with.

Watching game today. So far I'mean seeing good things from kicking and improvement in blocking.

Almost to halftime. Defense has done a very good job of being physical so far.

Just saw the Coley penalty. Completely his fault not surprised they threw him out at all.

I disagree he used his shoulder didn't even follow through. Guess you're not allowed to hit anyone anymore. I like that Coley is physical. We need that presence on d.

Correct.

On the flip side, Allen is slung down by his neck and targeting wasn't called.

If they want to protect the head/neck area, fine, but it needs to be consistent.

Also, Curles and crew missed Jcorn being brought down with the facemask twice and Hatcher once, all three instances the grasping caused the head to be turned.

That ref crew sucks. Curles is a terrible ref. They should absolutely be protecting it other ways but I still see why they ejected Coley. The replay even makes it looks worse.

It does, but if the ball wasn't snatched of the air and made it the WR, that would have been considered a clean play with an incomplete pass likely the result.

The wording of the rule was changed slightly for this year, but it still wasn't in the original intent of the rule as Coley didn't lead with his helmet or make contact above the shoulder early, he hit him in the chest which is what the rules people wants in that situation, who knew a player running at full speed would inflict as much force to the chest as it would to the head when the players collided (sarcasm).

Another thing that is noticeable is the his head snapped forward after contact which means he hit him below the head. If it had truly been helmet to helmet is head would've snapped back.

It's not even close to being fixed.

On the speed option play we scored a TD on, Froholdt nearly blew that up himself by falling down and removing Hatcher as an option and clogging Austin's running lane forcing an early pitch. We just got lucky we had numbers and Ole Miss didn't cheat the LB down on the edge.

I'm going to try to not to worry about it because Bert isn't going to pull Froholdt or Raulerson. I'd like to see Jackson get some reps at Guard. If he was good enough to start at T then maybe playing inline will remove the struggles he had picking up the outside blitz.

Yeah hatcher was actually the better read. If froholdt doesn't fall down Austin could've pitched it to hatcher and he walks in. Hopefully we'll use that again because the it seemed that flow was going outside completely had the defense confused badly

What? He led with his shoulder the entire way through. There was absolutely zero helmet-to-helmet. Zero. It was just a good hit.
