He was asked if Yuracheck feels differently now about his job after the BoT interfeered in the search and Irwin said that the Board's involvement was apparently a little overblown.

Said there was a verbal agreement WITH Kiff, then Sexton got involved, then Hunter immediately went on to Lunney.

Interviewed him, was kind of blown away by his prep and plan, then went to the board to talk about hiring him and some said no...spurred on by boosters who wanted Butch fricking Davis.

Apparently was the same group pushing for Chad last time.

(this is obviously the Jerry and/or John camp)

Hunter said hell no on Butch, went immediedtly to Sam, clicked from the get go, and the rest is now history.

If this is all true, then that's why Lunney was so upset.

Jerry had his way last time and look what happened, but we were also that close to having Lunney as the actual HC.

There are a lot of people with more money than sense.

If they truly care about our football program they should write a check and then stay very far away from it.

It's like Jerry running the Cowboys.

The ego won't allow them to let others handle it.

1. Ego

2. Surrounded by dick sucking yes men.

3. Former players who still have passion for the game.

It's like the saying goes, "you either play, or you coach". Good players aren't ever going to believe that a coach knows better than they do. It's why a lot of them don't make good coaches. "What do you mean you don't know how to make that move?! You just frickin' do this!"

There's like a perfect storm of reasons why Jerry Jones needs to stay the frick away from the Razorback football program. It's not a knock on him personally, he just isn't good at it and he can't see why.

When you give that much money... you expect to have a say in what happens.

It is what it is, as old as Politics itself.

Every program has the same problem, or at least Auburn, Old Miss, TAMU, etc.

Wealthy people don't necessarily have a lot of intellect.

I can actually believe, given what Hunter wants from a Head Coach (a burning desire to coach at your school), that Lunney was in the race down the stretch.

I think he would not have done as well as Pittman has done but I have zero doubts that Lunney had a plan and had it laid out.

Lunney is not a bad coach. Yes, he owns the last two losses for our horrific season but if Lunney had been the head coach from day one I dare say we would have at least sniffed a bowl game.

Am I saying "Bah Gawd, Fire Pittman!"

No. I honestly believe that Pittman is the best choice we had on the board. Yes, better than "Fat Elvis" Lane Kiffin. I think Lunney put a hell of a game plan out there and if Pittman had not desperately wanted the job Lunney would be the head coach right now.

Just...No. I award no points to the OP and am now dumber for having read it.

No idea why a small handful of posters want to bring turdville shite over here.

There is absolutely NO value whatsoever in anything posted there ever. It is all propaganda and bullshite. Mike Irwin hasn't said an ounce of truth about anything related to the Hogs, EVER. He's a mouthpiece. A shill for the company. NOTHING more. SO is Tardville and Lanny the cocksucking clown.

Have some self respect and leave that shite off this board.

I haven't been to that site in weeks. It popped up on youtube, I watched it, found the butch Davis/Lunney stuff interesting and posted it.

frick everything any Arkansas media has to say.

Honestly I think Lunney leaving is great for him. He needs to get a bigger set of coaching friends.

Maybe he can come in later, but he would have been a Chad, in that he seems to only have ties to retreads that have been on board with him.

we ended up in a what's best situation. I hope lunney continues to progress and do well. perhaps in a few years we will call upon him but I'd like to see him excel st beingbnboc and then maybe hc or big time PC position to get inside more coaching circles

He can't help it. He works in the media. Therefore, he thinks the media is worth something when it actually isn't. And this isn't just an Arkansas thing. The media, in general, is absolutely worthless.

Some people see that. Others update people on what Trey Biddy thinks.

That's fair. They had their say with Chad Morris. They set the program back more than any hire in our oldest poster's lifetime. You can bet they've had their say in a lot of things.

I'm glad Yurachek told them to go frick their own cockholes with Butch Davis. Congratulations, they spend a lot of money on a program they're apparently hellbent on sabotaging. Their massive donations don't really matter when the football team has no fans.

I just think it's great how a mutual hatred for that corrupt corner of the Internet can bring us all together in our ridicule of it.

I'll never understand their mentality either.... even if it's with good intentions. All I want from my donation is my seats, dibs on post season tickets, and parking. I don't want my name anywhere. I don't want to walk through the A before the game. I don't even want sideline passes. If you want to give me access to practice that would be cool but I don't need it. I sure as hell don't want any say in who we hire to coach or who we start at QB. We pay people to do that - so if I'm making those decisions then why are we wasting money on the athletic director and his staff?
