If there's a problem with football NIL it's because of a lack of enthusiasm.

Not going to badmouth Pittman, but if you were honest with yourself you knew it was a stop gap situation after Chad.
There's money out there, but nobody is going to give it freely unless you can put somebody out there they can be truly excited about.

Catch 22. We can't get enough higher level ability players to succeed until we can afford them.
Our best hope is the the NCAA realizes the inequity widening gap they have created and at least put a cap on NIL that the majority of the schools can operate at.

If Pittman was truly a stop-gap, we wouldn’t be bringing him back after 4-8 and a blowout to Mizzou in our own stadium.

Pittman had well paid coordinators to help him guide him along first few years.
Not only were they competent they helped him manage the game and less "I didn't know what to do".
They were vital to the player relations those we've seen deteriorate over the past year plus.
The Slusher thing Pittman didn't handle well at all. Everything with the former S&C coach. All this season. He can't handle adversity.
After a bit of early success his ego and attitude inflate so he wants more money and thinks he has control of things. He changes agents to Sexton wanting all that money/buyout for himself as retirement fund to Lake Hamilton.
Our board and HY agreed to it and got rolled once again by a poor coach and agent. The sustainability was in the program.
We are the school coaches seek to get a buyout check and retirement fund because our administration has no leadership or idea of what it takes to be successful and who is actually a good coach or what it takes to help a coach.
The guy is clueless when it comes to running a big-time football operation.

If you’re talking about Yurachek, I wholeheartedly agree.

Yes.
If he gets the opportunity to make the next HC hire we are screwed and most certainly won't be apart of the football landscape.
2029 is when the media rights deals are all lining up if not sooner.

What was the Slusher thing about?
Posted on 11/25/23 at 5:20 pm to Hog on the Hill
Pittman lost respect from the players and control of the lockerroom.
Fayetteville police put hands on Brown and Slusher tries to get him off then Pittman suspending him and Brown. They both go into the portal.

If he put his hands on police then he deserved to get arrested and booted. But, I don't even think that happened, the vid I saw didn't really show Slush doing much, but don't put yourself in that situation in the first place and it's not a problem.
I don't know the specifics of what happened but the locker room telling the coach how to run their program aint how things should be.
And look where Slush transferred to and who he's playing for now, pulling the victim card and crying foul is right up Primes alley.
On Yurachek, dude has done pretty damn well for us, especially after fricktard Long's tenure. If we legit keep Pitt for another season and he does anything less than 7-5, then yea I'd say Yuracheks arse should be molten.
The timing of the announcement that we'd keep Pitt was fricking stupid. He pretty well said "Don't worry Sam, here's another 5-6(?) million to give it another shot next year regardless how these last 2 games go."

Not hiring Norvell is Yuracheks biggest frick up at this point but who knows if he tried or not. We have no idea what happens in an AD's office, period.

Your timing is off.
We fricked the dog with Norvell in 2017 with that dumbass booster-led search committee since we didn’t have an AD.
Norvell purportedly wanted the job, but we fricked him over — either spreading or believing the stupid rumors about skeletons in his closet — and hired Chad. Yurachek was hired after Morris.
2 years later we were in *much* worse shape as a program and Norvell was an even hotter name, and he rightly told us to frick off.

Yea i got that mixed up with the hiring cycle where we hired Pitt, my bad

FSU is a way better job than ours. Norvell’s ties here are just UCA, so not nearly deep enough to offset that.

It is interesting how on the official website former Chancellor gives Yurachek some of Chad hire accountability.

University of Arkansas Vice Chancellor for Athletics Hunter Yurachek
“The future is tremendously bright at the University of Arkansas with the addition of Chad Morris. I am confident that Chad will bring an exciting brand of football, phenomenal student-athletes and championships to Fayetteville, and do it all with high integrity. We all owe a debt of gratitude to the incredible work of Julie Cromer Peoples in leading a comprehensive search and helping to bring a high caliber coach to Arkansas.”
University of Arkansas Chancellor Dr. Joseph E. Steinmetz
“We are thrilled to welcome Chad, Paula and their children to the Arkansas family. I enjoyed getting to know him and I am confident that he is the right coach to lead us back to competing for SEC and national titles. Julie Cromer Peoples did an outstanding job conducting the search in her interim role and on behalf of the Razorbacks everywhere, I say, ‘thank you’ to Julie. I am pleased that Hunter Yurachek had the opportunity to be involved in the final decision and offer and we cannot wait to have Chad leading our program.”

“As part of my continued evaluation, I have come to the conclusion that a change in leadership is necessary to move our football program forward and position it for success,” Yurachek said. “It is clear that we have not made the progress necessary to compete and win, especially within the Southeastern Conference. Throughout our history in football, as well as with our other sport programs, we have demonstrated that the University of Arkansas is capable of being nationally competitive. I have no doubt that as we move forward, we will identify a head coach that will help lead our program to that benchmark.
