I for one am shocked that our fan base would jump to conclusions and make assumptions
Shocked I tell you

Probably got emotional and overreacted online then the coaches talked him down
I still want Malik to take over after KJ. His ceiling is so high. Fortin doesn’t excite me

Pretty obvious he throws a better ball than KJ. I’m sure he’s nowhere near the athlete KJ is, but if he is marginally mobile, makes good decisions, and is accurate with the ball, he could be exactly what we need to make this offense work.

Fortin fits the mold more than any other QB for Briles. He usually doesn’t do the big shots. He can get you 5 yards with feet if needed and he looked really accurate with his intermediate passes if the WR could get separation that’s what Briles offense is based on. Just moving the chains 1-2 plays at a time. And going quickly while doing so.

He was 4-10 against the Bama backups. I’d prefer to see him against someone else before making that call, personally. Also, a huge part of our run game being so successful is because of KJ’s abilities in that space. Is it worth losing that to have slightly better passing? I’m not so sure now that we’re past the two best defenses that we’ll face on our schedule.

I don't really care either way
This team has bigger problems than this kids playing time. It always has

Sure, but then their backups are probably better than 80% of the conferences starters.

Know what else makes for an effective run game? A competent and effective passing game.

I think the improvement may be much more than slight, but regardless, the formula for beating us might as well be written on the Jumbotron at each stadium. We are a one trick pony. Single up on our receivers and sell out to shut down the run and contain KJ. We have no answer.

And every remaining team is going to do what aTm and Bama have done, to varying degrees of success. This is a complete throwaway year if we don’t change something.

Maybe Hornsby can play in the secondary. Nobody else seems to want to.

That where I'm at. Everyone goes on and on about his potential but bad things seem to happen when he touches the ball.

I mean why not? They say they got to get him on the field somehow but refuses to give him snaps at WR OR backup quarterback. shite if youve "got to get him on the field" then put him on the damn field lol

I'm in the same boat but ya got to admit the dude has got some crazy speed. Like why don't we just do a power run or a quick handoff or toss to the outside and see how he does instead of resorting to some flea flicker type shite every time he touches the field? Or line up for a post route like someone else said.
