Clark Lea should be at the top of everyone’s list…

Lea is a Vandy alum so I doubt he's going anywhere. Not sure he would have the same passion if he did.

I'm also not as keen on Campbell as I used to be. Without a ton of help from the refs he would have lost to stAte yesterday.

Yeah Lea is well ahead of Lashlee. SMU looks terrible this year.

Vandy was dog schitt until Jerry Kill and company came on board.

It's not Lea it's Kill that is carrying that team

Yep, greatest coach in the country one year, a piece of crap the next. I remember when Dave Aranda was the second coming of Saban and after one good year where did he go?

Let’s just bring in the next whipping boy, this one is worn out.

That’s why I suggested Mullens. We would be ecstatic with his records at Miss State and Florida.

He got fired from Florida for refusing to recruit, before NIL. So if we got a great GM and Mullens, we would be fine.

Pretty comparable to Nutt but not quite as good. I’d give him 5 years before the onslaught……haha

Not even close he only had 1 losing record at miss state, his first. Unless you count a 6-6 record and losing a bowl game in his second to last year there. I wouldn’t count that, no kids care about bowl games that aren’t playoffs.

He only had 1 losing record at Florida, his last one after the boosters started calling for his head before the season started because he said (paraphrasing) there is more important things to do than recruit like Kirby and Nick. I mean that’s a dumb thing to imply, especially before they paid kids.

However with a GM, it doesn’t really matter how he feels about recruiting does it?

Yes recruiting still matters.

Scouting is more important for Arkansas, truly hunting diamonds in HS and the portal.

Once a draft for HS talent takes place and free agency is restricted, then recruiting won't matter.

Who will be doing that? The GM team, right? Finding them and then bringing them to the actual coaches.

I’m not set on Mullen though. I like Glenn Schulmann and keeping Bobby.

Ideally the coaches could be approving who was to be added to the roster, they would likely need to meet with them to see if they would fit the team and had the personality, traits, and intangibles the would fit the roster. They would need to see if the player would respond to their coaching style and scheme of the position they were being looked at to play.

There is a word to describe this. It's on the tippy top of my tongue.

It's.....

Oh yeah the word is recruiting.

Bobby is still only 64, just make him HC again until he's ready to retire. Doubt we could do any better anyways.

I’m not saying we don’t do it.

I’m saying Texas Tech, Miami, SMU, TCU, and others are switching to 50/50 or more in recruiting vs transfers.

Honestly I want Schumann, because he would bring a good-great defense. Everyone claims he was the heart of the locker room as a graduate assistant under Saban with Kirby. And Georgias defense is elite, with a shite offense. If we can get him here and keep Bobby with pretty big money just to run an offense and be someone to bounce questions off of. He is 35 from Georgia for recruiting and learned under Kirby and Saban.. he has also been part of 6 national championship teams. From SA/GA/LB/DC.

Nutts 2 losing seasons came because of NCAA sanctions that weren’t his fault that killed recruiting because the NCAA drug out the investigation for several years. Nutt had a better sec record and overall winning percentage.

I mean what you say is a dumb thing to imply and your hatred blinds you from seeing the forest for the trees. But you’re entitled to your…..whatever it is.

Exactly, just like Pittman brought us an elite O-line.

Not ragging or disagreeing. Just couldn’t help myself.

That's not true. The football program lost a few scholarships for a couple of years stemming from the Herrod situation and years of players being paid no show jobs during the summer.

He used the leverage of the Nebraska job for the 2 year pass because he knew his lazy recruiting was about to catch up to him.

Nolan lost a larger percentage of scholarships after the NCAA had to admit their wrong doing in limiting juco recruiting after the Adebayo and Pate situation a few years prior. Their reasoning for the scholarship loss was the lack of institutional control label for the violations of the football program and the track program.
