I do not understand the total dislike for Gus, Nutt was the issue and those who were totally infatuated with Gus but not Gus himself. I dont dislike the guy and I think he is generally a good coach and person. I think he would be an improvement either way. Except if we hire this guy I hope we will afford him maximum time to fully change our program which I believe will take longer than people expect. Honestly, IMO our program needs some damn stability in the coaching area. That will help in recruiting for the long haul. My question is if there is another coach who will be a better fit/coach in general? Will he improve recruiting here? Is the fanbase going to allow him time to truly change that?

No thanks. He has better recruiting resources at Auburn and has only had one good season there. Why do you think Auburn fans have been wanting him gone? The guy has been underachieving like hell. If he were the coach here where it is harder to recruit to, he'll be even worse. We need someone who does not have any ties to the GOBN. If he were to fail, we'd be stuck with him longer than we have been with Bert just b/c of those ties to the GOBN.

Mike Norvell is young, energetic, and a dynamic recruiter. He brings a good offense, wants to be here as bad, has no ties to the GOBN, and would be cheaper to get, considering they'll be having to pay for Bert and staff's buyouts.

Gus would demand a huge salary and a free pass probably for at least 6 years for mediocre results. You know what you're getting with him.

Art Briles was a good football coach.

Joe Paterno was a good football coach.

Would you want either of those frickers coaching our team?

I'll support anyone who is named the Razorback coach, as I am a Razorback fan. I hope it isn't Gus.

Thanks for the input. Is Norvell your first pick?

If Gus becomes head coach I will not watch any games or spend any money on Razorback football until he is no longer the coach.

Right

Gus isn't my first choice, but if he's hired I'll support him and the team and go to games like I would with any coach. If you're serious I'd question your fandom.

I don't really give a shite what you question!

So you would support any coach of the Razorbacks regardless of your opinion of them on a personal level?
