But so was the 1978 Orange Bowl. LINK

Ya know, this sucks for GA period.

They as a fanbase do not deserve the crap they get imho.

If I was Richt, I would play him and win all I could and attempt the NCAA to do something. The NCAA is a gutless piece of garbage anymore.

Aubbbie gets away with everything, Bama get mens clothing, Fl State still has Winston, this is ridiculous, pay these kids now. Ok,

Crazy he's gone, well see if it sticks but as good as Gurley is UGA is deep at the RB position.

According to NCAA reinstatement guidelines, $400 extra benefits = miss 20 percent of season (2 games).

Obviously not official, but interesting...

Hawg friends, don't let your kids marry anyone who follows Georgia sports closely. That person will be a bitter, pessimistic soul.

I'm pulling for a 1 game suspension, but I'm not holding my breath. Hopefully, it will still be a good game.

eta: I hope you guys kick Bama's arse

He's out until the UF game. Chubb is solid, but has a broken thumb. We have Brendan Douglas who has talent, but hasn't carried the ball at all this year. I guess our FB would be third string.

Honest question K9 -- in the wake of the Auburn, Miami and OSU "scandals" that went nowhere with the NCAA despite a pile of evidence, coupled with the fact that the public really just doesn't care about this penny ante stuff anymore, why are y'all suspending him?

ETA - For OSU, I'm referring to the huge write-up in SI last year about academic fraud and all that.

I honestly don't know. I guess there is a possibility that if we play him and more info comes out that will damn him, we could have to forfeit the games he played in. But I think it has more to do with our administration (President, AD, Board of Regents, etc) that want UGA to be the fricking moral compass of the SEC for some reason. And In reality, their strict than normal policies has made us look WORSE than most schools because we dismiss so many players and release the details of their arrests. It sucks

The "good sport" in me says let him play.

The realist in me says we need all the breaks we can get against UGA!

Either way I hate it for the young man that he may have done something so stupid\selfish that he will have let his teammates and coach's down.

Not too selfish if his family is barely above poverty level. See Chris Webber.

Family will always trump football, especially when Gurley will still get drafted.

Let the kid play.
