Interested to hear from Stone and Dale on this one...The rest of us I feel like gave Mike a while, but Stone and Dale continued support for much longer than most posters here. Understandable, as everyone was excited when we got Mike 8 years ago.

Should we expect at least an NIT bid in season one? He took Nevada from a 9 win team to a 24 win team in year one. SEC is much tougher at this time, but still manageable.

Honestly, I am not sure where I stand on what to expect. 20-24 wins? Maybe? Lots coming back, but also void of quality depth down low. Chaney will be good, but who behind him at PF? Can Henderson develop in the off season? Lot's of questions. Guard play should be solid with good depth there. How much will Gabe contribute?

22 wins.

-would like to see consistent play. No 1-6 in January only to get hot in March.

-would like to see playing time to be competitive. You started last year doesn't mean you will be starting this year.

-Be top 3 in freethrow% in the conference. Nevada was 71% this year in comparison Arkansas was 67%. That's easily 2-3 more wins.

-Need to score 80 points a game. Nevada scored 79 or less 17 times last year.

Personally I think he shouldn't really have "expectations" placed on him in year 1, but that said, I anticipate them making the NCAAt in his first season. He has a lot of talent on this team. I'd imagine he will win 20 or more.

As far as Gabe goes, I'm anxious to see how well he develops as an offensive player under Muss. He is already a first rate defender and he did have at least 1 20 point game this season. I think he will end up being a contributor again next season and a lot of our fans won't understand why because they've already convinced themselves the guy can't play.

JK. No expectations except improvement. Throughout year and season to season I want to see players improve.

I think we got the best we can hope for. He's got 4 years at Nevada to look at, not to mention his NBA, CBA experience. Not sure why everyone is so down on him recruiting. He was at NEVADA. Coaching he knows, recruiting he is learning. That's a good thing. I think we're getting a good coach on an upswing with something to prove. Unlike Marshall, who doesn't seem to be up to a challenge and is comfortable where he is at or Sampson who is over the hill and I don't think is as good of a coach as Musselman...certainly not superior. Sampson would've been a good hire when we hired Mike. Not now. Beard? MAYBE last year. He was my hope, but a deep run made that impossible. I think we held Mike one year too long. Shoulda made the run at Beard last year. Or even the year before. It was obvious after year 6 Mike was maxed out and didn't have the fire.

What's not to like about Musselman? Honestly, who better could we have gotten? Plus, the NBA experience and connections. He brings a lot in my opinion and his style of play will be exciting and put asses in the seats.

no way this is true.

id be shocked if hit double figures more than twice, and no way he had a 20 pt game.

He certainly did. He had at least one 20 point game this season.

I think he is a great ball player. Not for his offensive prowess, because he doesn't have much of that, but he is an outstanding defender. And MuscleMan's teams do emphasize playing good defense.

Gabe will be out there jacking up 3s again next year.

ETA: You were correct. Actually looked up some stats for once and he had a career high of 13 against Ole Miss.

wins..... 20ish.... I don't know how much elite talent we have on campus right now.
program... hope he uses his mad scientist formula to set up up for a big season in year 2 and beyond.
get fans in the seats, re-market us as elite nationally, trend upward!!!!!!

Enough I think. Isaiah Joe, Mason Jones, Reggie Chaney, and Desi Sills are all high level players. And I know his name gets tossed around jokingly around here, but I'm excited to see what MuscleMan can do with Ethan Henderson.

Desi Sills and Isaiah Joe are gonna be killers for this team next season, IMO.

13 points was his high for a game and he only reached double digits twice

Want to see who else Mussleman is able to bring in before trying to predict a record for year 1.

Before anything I want to see who he brings in. I'm not expecting any core guys to transfer and if we can get a couple big men we will be good next year.

Why would we expect anything less than what we would have from Mike?

I expect a tourney birth and a top 7 seed

Wait, you expected this with mike?????

Dude we have no big men unless muss bus brings one in. I expected to be worse next year with mike.

This year will depend solely on what big guy we get.

What do you mean? I expected a losing season if Mike had stayed.

My expectations for Year 1 -

1 - A noticeable jump in the quality of recruiting (and closing)

2 - An NCAA birth

Otherwise what did we fire Mediocre Nice Guy for anyway....

1. an uptick in recruiting overall.
2. Consistency in play and roster management.
3 A defense using spacing in stead of hands, move those feet.
4. An offense predicated on spreading the floor, pass, pass, pass well.
5. Win at least 22 games and get an ncaa birth

Rev, we are gonna have no talent in the paint. I expect about 16-17 wins. I want to see a competitive recruiting class
