Oh my sweet lord....immediately eligible.

quote:

Arkansas is a potential landing spot for King, sources told ESPN.com. New Razorbacks coach Sam Pittman recently hired offensive coordinator Kendal Briles -- who spent the 2018 season at Houston with King -- away from Florida State. A potential reunion between the two in the style of offense that led to King's career year, plus a chance to play in the SEC -- the conference that annually produces the most NFL draft picks -- is an attractive option for King

Why tf are y’all getting excited about this? When in Razorback history has this sort of thing ever gone in our favor? He will end up at A&M or another rival.

Winning one or two of these battles is going to be the first step in Pittman righting the ship. He has to get out there and make some plays of some kind.

He's allegedly the best recruiter we've ever had. If that's true, here's his chance to prove it.

Meh. Lots of good teams need a QB. Not going to hold my breath until it happens.

My thoughts as well. I’d love to land him but I could also see it playing out like Kelly Bryant all over again.

Seems odd to quit on your team 4 games into the year because they suck and then transfer into this bombed out carcass of a program but whatever I’ll take it

former houston player says holgerson asked him to redshirt. he didn't quit on the team.

Former University of Houston Guard Accuses Dana Holgorsen of Tanking

quote:

In a lengthy Twitter thread posted on Thursday night, former Houston right guard Justin Murphy accused new head coach Dana Holgorsen of making the decision to “actively tank” during the 2019-20 season.

According to Murphy, Holgorsen encouraged seniors on the team to redshirt this season after the Cougars’ 1-3 start and “develop” for next year, the college football equivalent of tanking. Star quarterback D’Eriq King announced he would sit out the rest of the year on September 30, as did wide receiver Keith Corbin. Houston is currently 2-3.

If that’s true then he not only quit on his team he’s going back on a commitment to his coach

Again I don’t care about the circumstances, if Pittboss gets this dude to Fayetteville I’ll be impressed

As someone who's from the Houston area, and is friends with a lot of UofH students and alum, I can confirm this isn't just some fantasy. King might actually be coming here. There is a real chance because he worked with Kendall Briles in 2018 and had a damn near Heisman year with him. However, with how our program is he might go somewhere he feels like he'll be surrounded by better talent have more success W-L wise. We need to pitch to him frick the W-L, you wanna combine for 50 tds and under 10 turnovers again? Who's going to make you the best NFL draft pick? Kendall Briles & Arkansas. That should be our pitch.

Exactly. I'm assuming at this point he's finishing out the semester at UH and would be a fall enrollee. Him already knowing Briles offense would have to be a factor vs going somewhere else and having limited time to learn a new system and make any impact.

Plus our expectations are so low, if he led us to 6 wins next year he could run for Gov.

Yeah, I mean nothing is for certain. But the noise down here is for sure pointing to Arkansas.

There's talk of him going to a lot of other places, there will be more, and there's a great chance he will go elsewhere. I just wanted to set the record striaght and say that we truly are one of those places that he's considering, and there's evidence to substantiate that.
