No.... And I would love to hear explanation for why. He had to see the front four weren't getting any pressure.

Don't remember any.

At some point, as a coach you've gotta say, "Okay mother frickers, I'm bringing the house to put your QB on his arse"

Never happened. Instead, we gave their WRs 10 Yard cushions, didn't blitz, didn't have many stunts on the Dline.

We were basically a cheap lay yesterday. Didn't move, and just laid there and took it.

Our D yesterday was reminiscent of a Willy Robinson D, complete with no blitzes and the corners playing 10 yards off and giving up enormous chunks of the middle of the field.

Hoping our defense's success last year wasn't just because of Spaight, Flowers and Philon. Not going to overreact yet though

Ummmmm....we only gave up 16 points. And half of those were due to a shite possession by the offense and a shitty snap on a punt. The D wasn't the issue. We would've had to hold them to 6 points. And guess what? We can't expect them to shut out every team we play to cover for out shitty arse QB and run game. The blame lies firmly on the offense. You give ANY team enough possessions and they will score.

Toledo didn't need any fancy blitzes to get pressure on BA. Hell, they were doing it with three and four man rushes. It's TOLEDO!!!! Obviously, some of you people don't understand that. We should have been able to tell them what play we were gonna run and still do it.

There is no excuses, we suck arse. Our coaches suck arse. I have zero complaints about the D. 16 points is reasonable. 10 for the fricking offense is not. BA sucks arse. This year is for shite if he stays in. He can't win the games we should, and we don't win the toss up games. So, we damn sure aren't gonna pull any upsets. Unless our D can step up and shut out two teams....we're fricked. And even then, I'm sure BA and Bert's fat arse can figure out a way to score less than zero.

I think we're going to miss Flowers and Philon more than anything, because we can't seem to generate a pass rush or disrupt the pocket with our current D-line rotation. We didn't get that great of pressure on UTEP's QB either.

Still though, it's pretty amazing to think that we held Toledo to 16 points (really 10 if not for the botched punt). Plus, they came up big when it counted in the 4th quarter, and the offense just could never deliver. I was watching it with my buddy and he remarked "holy shite, it feels like Toledo should have like 40 points right now."

This is what drives me nuts. I distinctly remember the one play we played press across the line. It was 3rd and 3 and they needed a first down to help ice the game. We pressed the slants and what happened? Incomplete pass. It's magical.

I'm not disagreeing with you totally and I've yet to tMelt but I think you hit on something in the post. The OL was the issue. Allen will be judged by that last 2 minutes but he hit 60% of his passes for 400 yards.

I had a good perspective in the South endzone all day. The OL was getting pushed in the passing game and created no holes in the run game.

It's almost like Toledo knew what plays we were going to run. They always seemed to adjust to the right calls based in formation.

If Allen would have hit Henry, many would have said it was one of the best plays in the last 10 years. He was open but it was a tough pass to make

Perhaps they did. They have faced Enos for the past 5 years.
