Not to derail the productive conversation but, assuming it's not Gruden, he's definitely playing to the Grumors.

Also Nutt never lost 8 games in a season.

Or won fewer than 2 conference games. Sam’s best year had us at .500 in conference.

I was an original “Dark Sider” but can objectively say Nutt was considerable better than Pittman.

Would Nutt have had the same type of tenure in an 18 team SEC? I highly doubt it. Hard to compare any coach from today versus any prior to OU/Mizzou/A&M/Texas joining the conference.

I will say I’d love to see his Hog Call in the presser. Probably more so than anyone else on the list

I think so. I know Mizzou and A&M wouldn’t have embarrassed us for 10+ years if he were here. He lives for the rivalry stuff.

Nutt missed bowl games 2 times in his 10 years here. If you’re content with 6-6 and bowl games why are we having this discussion lol

Mullen missed a bowl twice as a head coach, his first year at Miss State and last year at Florida after he said frick it.

Only had 2 sub 50% season in 13 years and 1 season at 6 wins… the rest were 7 or better.

You are the one arguing for a guy who lives at 6-7 wins.

Well, well, well looks like someone else only has 2 sub .500 season in 15 years and the rest were 7+ or better.

Mullen is better than Bert, Chad or Pittman so I wouldn’t hate your pick, but shitting on Campbell is crazy. Also none of this matter because I highly doubt either will be our next coach

Well well well, playing in a shittier conference. My whole point is he plays in a worse conference and can’t win it, you keep saying the funding the blah blah blah.. we are in a tougher conference and our funding AD, will all be around the same level as he has there.

He wouldn’t win here either. It would be years of us begging for him to be fired and him having another break out season, then more trash seasons. Another Bert or Pittman.

But his team has always been a doormat even in that conference Baylor, tcu, Houston, byu, Utah, Texas tech, colorado, hell even ucf and Cincinnati are better places to coach than Iowa state. Kansas and Kansas state as well. There is not a harder job in the big 12 than Iowa state. It is one of the hardest in all of college football, right up there with Washington state, Oregon state, Vandy and northwestern.

I retract what I said about Kansas, it’s also super hard to win there. But I’d say those two are the same level in terms of difficulty to win at.

I think we probably know, because if we don’t, Hunter needs to be tar and feathered and ran out the state.

I think Hunter, if smart, went to each major booster and said this is my list, who would you actually back. If you leak, you won’t be informed in the future.

Thats what matters more than coaching at this point, who will you be willing to fully fund.

Mullens is an underwhelming retread that has shown his inability to sustain a high level at one of the premier teams in the SEC at the time. Up and down record at MSU then a high point at Florida only to trend downward.

The same could and would be said about Mullens if he got the job at Arkansas.

HY has fumbled a lot but the coaching search stuff he has down as far as letting things out. Hell people still believe that we were about to hire Jans or Walker when he already had Cal agreed in principle.

So after all this Bobby Bones is THE guy that has the inside scoop and it's someone that hasn't been mentioned on any of the boards...

How Arkansas is that?!?!?!?!

I dislike Hunter in every form, but I have to admit, he keeps a tight circle.

I hate how he has put us 4 years behind in the NIL. I hate how he has put us 4 years behind in the GM. I dislike how he extended Pittman, after Pittman said I’m never gonna leave. Then he didn’t fire him last year when he should, putting us behind the 8 ball in a coaching search that could determine our relegation from a super league in 2030.
