Defensive minded is code for shitty offense and keep the losses close.

Holding those recent losses against Dabo, or any coach, is the same as holding the recent losses against Petrino
It doesn’t tell the whole story. Gotta look at potential and the full body of work

Usually the story comes down to coaching in today's climate which consists of roster management through NIL and the Portal.
One thing not discussed from the G5 coaches is the NIL budget compared to competition within the conference.
For example Memphis allegedly had the largest NIL budget as the investing toward an invite to a P4 conference. Sumrall had the largest budget in conference at Troy and is at the top at Tulane allegedly.
The NIL information is mainly rumor in the public sphere, but this information goes along way into evaluating how they manage their rosters compared to their competition. It's easy to misspend and waste NIL then claim the failure is a result of not having enough NIL.

Could have kept Pittman or Bert.. both were the kings of one score games.

I still wonder what would have happened with Bielema’s tenure if we hadn’t blown that Mizzou game.

It got a little harder to hit the states Tito’s number when he left.

Two season of Chad Morris and those numbers were right back to normal.

Yes. One year sample size doesn’t outweigh 14 years of doing so.
Clemson beat ranked Louisville tonight on the road

Defensive minded head coaches just make me nervous at Arkansas. We’ll never get the talent of the top teams in defense consistently and you’re always at risk of losing your OC if he’s good and not being able to find someone to replace him. Just a gamble all around.
I completely agree with everything you said. Going with a defensive-minded coach isn’t ideal, but I was just pointing out that it can work even though I’m not convinced it would for us.
That said, I think a defensive coach could still be a better option than hiring the wrong “CEO type.” To your point, a defensive coach does depend on having a strong OC, but the CEO type often has to rely on keeping great coordinators on both sides of the ball.
I definitely agree that we’ll be in a much better position if we go with a great offensive mind.

Yet, if I’m not mistaken, you were one of the people pointing to Bobby’s single losing season during his second stint at Louisville and his record at Mo State as proof he no longer has it. The same record that led them to two of their only four playoff appearances in school history (the other two being more than 40 years earlier) and gave them the momentum to move up to the FBS level. All while overlooking the fact that he’s posted eight or more wins in all but four seasons across a 17-year head coaching career.

Coach O plz.
No, we screwed our chances of landing O when we tore down Bottom's Up. Without one of the sleaziest strip bars in the country his interest has probably dived. We could work out a deal to fly him back and forth to Tulsa... hmm.
Well, lets see how we do today. Of the three teams left on our schedule LSU looks like our best target. We are only in mild disarray while they look to be utter free fall. A win or two would certainly help Petrino's cause and likely make the Arkansas job more enticing to other potential HCs. Maybe it would encourage some of the high rollers to dip into their pocket change and buff up our NIL.
