Yes, one hundred percent, he made that call as soon as Pittman was fired. Hunter didn’t look at anyone else because he is a lazy twat of a human, who shouldn’t be allowed to be athletic director another day.

Someone in Discord mentioned that HY basically took control of the coaching search from the BOT in the last few days or so and always wanted Silverfield, so he was going to make that his mission.
Conspiracy theory is HY may have actually leaked the Golesh news because that would piss off his camp and sour negotiations so HY could then pivot back to Silverfield, who he always wanted.
Recruits today were telling Danny west even that they knew Silverfield would be the coach for a couple weeks now, but couldn't tell anyone.
None of it makes sense other than HY was running his own search the whole time and the BOT were running one, too, and that's why the Intel was so bad. The BOT members were saying even last night there is no way Silverfield would be the hire, and it was Wommack if Golesh fell through.
It's a giant shite show it sounds like, and Hunter fricked us yet again.

In fairness he said one of the best classes in Arkansas history. So a top 20 class? If we’re truly top 20 in NIL that’s where we should be. Would still be impressive given we don’t know who the assistants are but money talks.

Today on 247 we are 82nd in the nation and 16th in the SEC. So there is definitely some work to do just to get to top 20.

You need to stop. Are you really trying to say it was Golesh until 1AM when he got a better offer? What time was Silverfield announced? We must have had a done deal with both of them?

Yes. It’s like you’re new to coaching searches or something. Everything I said lines up with the timeline. HY couldn’t get it back after he fricked up and let it leak. It’s ok to say it.

12:21pm, Golesh was announced to Auburn 10:10am. I don’t see what you’re getting at.
People don’t actually think HY just said no to the BOT choice and went out and hired who he wanted without approval? That’s not how it works.

You were blaming that leak on Fletcher and Petrino this weekend, and you can stop being an arse any time. You’re saying it was all but a fait accompli as of 9 something PM with Golesh. This is well after the leak. But by noon or whatever the next day, Silverfield is announced.
At this point, it matters little. Silverfield may be the better coach anyway. You just need to stop running around acting like you have info when you don’t.
