Leaving TG in for so long this season, specifically the last 3 games, will remain the most questionable decision Bobby has made in his career that didnt involve tall blonde women.
The only thing that makes sense is someone would not let him try option 2 due to NIL, donor promises, etc.

End of the day, coaches are going to leave, you can’t handcuff yourself in the position we’re in. If a coach leaves, he’s likely left you in a pretty good position to go make a good hire.

You have to remember HY handcuffed himself with Sam Pittman and a contract to Sam Pittman when Sam Pittman had no other prospects as a head coach.
So it makes sense he would frick up this hire by trying to include language that didn't matter at the time of the hire.
That is how you hire Silverfield, you have to find a HC desperate enough to accept bullshite terms on an initial contract. If Odom wasn't 2-10 at Purdue it could have easily been him.
