No link. Just heard it on the radio. Let the melt begin.
Also referenced we don't want to be viewed as a job that is a career killer. He referenced BB's career. BB is still screwing us to this day.

No one is going to melt because we know its not true.
If we don't win a couple more games than last year and the stadium doesn't remain marginally full, they will shite can his arse.
You think his buyout is anything in comparison to 20-40k open seats per game?
Do the math man. Not sure why this is such a complex equation to some of ya'll and those on the radio.
No one will see this job as a "career killer" if Chad wins 4 games over a 2 year span. It's unacceptable in this profession. It's not like we're talking about firing him after a 5-6 win season. We're talking about firing him after 2 straight years of an ABOMINABLE record, ontop of his already god awful record.

Bruce has ingested too much saltwater on the gulf. I appreciate his time as a Hog but 4 yrs with 2 wins a year is moronic.

If our idiotic administration gives him a third yeah, there's no justification and we need a new AD as well. Hunter Yurachek flat out said that not winning enough games is a fireable offense. He's squandered all of the easy games to pad his win amount to buy another year.

He straight up fired Mike Anderson on the spot for walking into his office at the end of last season and saying "we'll be fine" when he asked Mike for an actual plan.
Not sure why everyone thinks his rope is so slack with Chet.
Again, $9M is chump change when you start looking at donation loss and ticket sales.
If he manages to lose to WKU or MSU and go 0-fer again, don't see any way they can possibly keep him.

Our boosters and board of trustees are the problem, maybe the chancellor too with his search committee last search.
I've come around on Hunter because IMO he was a puppet and told what to do with the football program but I really like his basketball decisions.

Fans overreacted a little after the TD club interview and tweet after the A&M game imo. I totally get why people get upset over those instances but I believe that was just more of him trying to support something that wasn’t going to change for at least a month or two. I judge his actions regarding the basketball program earlier this year over the the tweet and interview.

Chet was hired December 6th. Was already a done deal, HY had nothing to do or any say in Chet.

I think the only time I've ever heard an AD say anything differently when a coach was obviously on the hot seat was when Texas A&M's AD publicly said that Kevin Sumlin needed to get his shite together. Every other coach who is on the chopping block gets the rhetoric. "-- is the man for the job." "-- still has this university's full backing." "We're full steam ahead with -- and that's not going to change."
The only time I've ever outright rolled my eyes at it was when Jeff Long said we were ahead of schedule. I really liked JL far more than the average Hog fan, but it was downright unexplainable why he picked the Bielema hill to die on.

For sure. Can't blame him for being professional and trying to give the guy any chance at all to prove the naysayers wrong. It's the middle of the year. Would serve no purposes to publicly smash him.
It's not like those conversations aren't getting tougher and tougher after each Chet frick up.

Dude's head was way too far up the donor bases you know what and not far enough into the football program.
From the surface, things looked pretty decent after the 2014 season and even in 2015.
If you really didn't know what to look for, Bert still seemed like a decently solid guy until the last 4 win season and then the next one after when he was gone.

He seemed decently solid until the end of his second 7–6 season. There was no reason we couldn't have beaten Missouri and Virginia Tech. I wanted him fired after those meltdowns. The 4–8 season was not necessary, everyone knew how that one would turn out.

For sure. But for someone who's hands were completely off the wheel and likely didn't really know shite about football, I can see how it all went down.
Toledo was bad, but it still pales in comparison to SJSU.

If he wins more games, then yeah, that's true
It's that simple

I had regained faith after Auburn, ole miss, lsu. Suddenly we had all the momentum in the world. Chris Lowe was on bo's show saying it seemed like Arkansas was the 2nd best team in the sec despite their record.
Then we played miss st, and we lost on a fg attempt when we had been blocked 3 times that season, and the best player on the field was BA, and we ran it 3 times in a row inside the 20. THAT was the last straw for me. Toledo had destroyed me... then we beat teams we shouldnt have.
Then after the year was over, even if we had won those games. I would have looked back at TTech, and Toledo and still wanted him gone. That was a 10-11 win team that won 8 with a bowl.

He referenced BB's career. BB is still screwing us to this day.
Bielema improved in year 2. He won 2 SEC games (beat a ranked Ole Miss team 30-0) and won his bowl game against a hated rival - albeit a weak one - in Texas.
Chad is set to go 2-10 AGAIN. Chad has lost to 3 G5 ballclubs - only one of which was a good team (North Texas). Bielema lost to a good Toledo team which should have put him firmly on the hot seat but he finished the season on a hot streak going 5-3 in the SEC - which included #4thand25 and embarrassing LSU in death valley.
Morris finds a way to beat Miss State and WKU then he MIGHT get another year but if he goes 2-10 (highly likely) letting Ty Storey bitch slap him around our home field then he needs to go.
Bielema did not deserve the buyout
Bielema deserved to be fired.
But using Bielema to defend Morris is dumb.

quote:Toldeo was bad b/c they are G5 but they were a good team ------ nothing like losing to SJSU. Tech had Patrick Mahomes on their team. And Queensbury wanted revenge for us kicking his arse in Lubbock the year earlier.
I would have looked back at TTech,
The only comparable game that Bert (in terms of embarassment) had to Morris' loss to SJSU is the ALMOST loss to Coastal Carolina.
Sad thing is that Chad will probably top that embarrassment with a loss to WKU and Ty Storey.

Serious question(s) - Did anybody call in after Bruce made this statement and argue with him? Did anyone bring up the fact that the situations are completely different? How about the fact that we have a completely different AD now? Was there any push back to what Bruce said or did everyone go "yup he probably right"?????
Our media is garbage. It has nothing to do with negativity or positivity but rather the fact that they are followers instead of news breakers. Freakin hogville or this place has broke news earlier than our media.
With social media you don't even need print/internet/radio media members anymore. Their articles are usually some sort of variance of the press conference which is just coach speak. OR they just look at stats and come up with a story. Nothing groundbreaking at all. Their access to the football program is not much different to what you and I have - except they get to watch 15 minutes of drills and stretching so they know who is injured and who isn't. WOW!!! much impressive.
The one sport that has open access to every practice and scrimmage is baseball and there is never any media members there to cover them. They'll write articles that reguritate what Kendall Rogers said or they'll interview DVH via telephone and basically print the transcript.
TLDR - We don't need media. Most of us are smarter and want the Hogs to win not a certain coach to be given more time.
