I'm not sure what Briles was supposed to call differently given how the line and KJ played. We had dudes streaking down the field wide arse open and KJ just wouldn't pull the trigger.

As much shite as Odom rightfully gets, his defense didn't allow a single point in the 2nd half.

He's had 3 years to coach him up or find someone better. Clean house.

This isn’t just a Briles issue, it’s a whole staff issue.

I agree with this. It's pathetic that this is the best we have 3 years in.

KJ played like shite. Scared to throw the ball. Guys wide open or single covered all day long. At least Hornsby will let it rip

Hornsby should have played the entire second half. And somebody should be chewing the offensive lines arse for the next 3 hours. I’d let them take a shower and straight to the film room to watch that shitshow again. Half of them looked like they didn’t know there was a football game going on. We have to be better off letting the second or third string play.

O line wasn’t great but KJ had a lot of time on a lot of plays.

Looking at a lot of plays, I think Kj was calling the wrong play and they didn’t know wtf they were doing.

Like Dreebie said, tons of plays where Kj has 15 seconds to throw, didn’t pull the trigger and wound up sacked or a shitty throw away.

His reads were terrible all day. RPO is designed to let dudes come by into the backfield. QB has to make the read correctly and KJ fricked it up all day long.

There is no defending what the defense has done at times this year, but at least half of their problem has been our offense playing like absolute dogshit. Been saying it all year, but half of our fans have a man crush on Briles, I guess.

If we had an OC or a coach, KJ wouldn’t have seen the field in the second half. He has played his guts out for us, but he is the exact opposite of a leader.

Exactly what happens when you hire 5A coaches in a 7A conference.

This shite has been so predictable it's not even funny anymore.

The line sucked, but there were many times he had a 5 count to get rid of the ball. That’s like twice as long as the next level gets for their reads.

KJ is a tight end. We don’t want to go through the growing pains, or dividing the team by saying this is your new position KJ. So the whole coaching staff has accepted mediocrity for the year.

How does the staff not see that in fall camp? He didn’t look that bad last year. I think kj is just hurt and we don’t have any backup that the staff trusts plain and simple

He looked exactly the same as he does this year. But since he got hurt this year he has decided to stay in the pocket and not pick up the 5-10 yards with his feet. And he can’t read a defense so when he does throw the ball he throws it into double coverage. When he throws into single coverage it’s rushed and behind, too tall or too in front… never on target.

Look at the game yesterday. He held the ball and stayed in the pocket when holes were opened for him to just pick up 3-5. He got a concussion, and is afraid of hits now. When he finally realized we are going to lose he picked up those 3-5 on the ground and started moving quicker. That’s all Briles offense is. Getting 3-5 every possession and going quick so they can’t sub.

To summarize, KJ is only useful when he can run and isn’t scared. He isn’t accurate. He can’t read a defense. He has the body, speed and power of a tight end. If he wants to play at the next level he needs to be there.

No way fans were going to let Briles play Hornsby and have KJ as a tight end without the calls for his job getting loud after last year. I doubt he has the full backing of a coach who wants to be 3 yards and a cloud of dust every play.

Cue Harry and crew to come in and swing from Pittmans nuts and blame Briles. When in multiple interviews he has said i hold him back sometimes, I was yelling run the ball but the play was already in and it worked, or I let him go full out against BYU.

Burn the whole thing down if we can upgrade at head coach. If not pull the trigger next year. Take the time to get a good hire but start looking now. Pittman's time frame should be determined by the availability of a solid upgrade.

Yep, elite coaches are beating the door down to coach here and firing Sam after he drug us out of the ashes will certainly make them want to flock here.

Let his high school recruits come in and mature so he doesn’t have to live and die by the portal then make a determination.

Before Sam got here people were begging for a conference win, or bowl chance or just not get blown out by w Kentucky. Now it’s fire his arse, after 2 1/2 years.

Good grief…..

I can understand that line of thinking, but we have the talent to be a solid team. If we aren’t able to do anything with the talent we have now, what can we really expect going forward? And doesn’t that logic dictate that we should have been at least as good this year as we were last year, and will be better next year than this?
