The growth is good and bad. To me, I'd take Conway ~15-20 years ago over now. It has outgrown the "small town separate from LR, but easily drivable" thing that made it attractive initially.

I'm really surprised Faulkner county is still dry.

And I would take Fayetteville 20+ years ago. Thanks to all the idiots who post best place to live and raise a family, that’s never going to happen.

NWA has changed even more than Conway. Reason being is due to the California and Yankee fricks flocking to NWA in hordes. The culture influx of those people is just repulsive to me.

Call me close minded. I don't care. I prefer Arkansas, and Arkansas people. The yanks and Californians aren't pleasant to be around.

Hell it's changed a lot since I last lived there 8ish years ago. Visited not too long ago and I can definitely see where this sentiment comes from. Ran into a lot of folks that screamed transplant. They stick out like a sore thumb.

It’s very difficult if you’ve lived here your whole life or for decades. That’s the tough thing with growth - major potential economic gains, amenities, etc. but the pendulum always swings both ways and there are some really sucky by-products. Grew up in Fayetteville and as much as it’s gained, there have been losses and that’s all I’ll say.
