Meh,I'm at the point of just wanting to bring in the pirate and let him do his thing.

I've found myself watching his games over the years just to see what he can do.Might as well watch him here.

I'm bored with what's been going on these last few years.

If we hire Fickell I will have a gogdam meltdown.

For fux sake......theres literally 8 reasonable coaches that are better and available.

Sam Pittman would be a better hire than Ficktard

I don't see what grounds you base this on. Dude is 21-3 over the last 2 seasons. Sam Pittman has never been a head coach. Hell, he's never been an offensive coordinator. A jump from oline coach to head coach is like an 8 fold increase in personnel alone.

That is some sort of statement.

Fickell is a solid, solid back-up hire. I’d rather Campbell, Kiffin, or Norvell but wouldn’t melt over LF. Still think Yurachek has a strong hand to play.

Yeah what a badass

Go look up Butch Jones record his last 2 years at Cincinnati......very similar. Cincinnati plays in a weak conference and has all of the built in recruiting advantages being right in the middle of Ohio.

Look at Ficktard's record at Ohio St after Tressel resigned. He totally shite the bed prior to Urban coming in.

No thanks. He's Chad Morris 2.0

The AAC is actually pretty darn stout. The have been for a few years. The bottom teams do suck the meat missile but the top teams can play with just about anyone.

That having been said my concern is not that he would be Chad Morris 2.0 but Bert 2.0.

He's a Midwest guy who has spent his career in the Midwest. Evidently the Fickster is a master recruiter but will Midwest and Florida recruiting translate to Arkansas and the insanity of SEC recruiting wars?

We are considering Lane Kiffin.

And when he gets up here, we'll see how long Gumbo bumping Ed runs his mouth about us not winning anything in a long time.

I'll watch Hee Haw with Gumbo bumping Ed anytime. Maybe it'll be an episode where Moe Bandy is on...maybe he'll sing Bandy the rodeo clown..me and Gumbo bumping Ed will drink cold Coors beer and sing along....we'll probably get along.

But when Lane strolls into town, he is gonna stop that Gumbo bumping Ed from shooting off at the mouth.

He can mouth and piss off Nick Saban and get under his skin.

Lane won't tolerate it.

What’s the collective thought on Schiano? I was in high school/college during his Rutgers time and was more concentrated on poontang than football. He seems like a proven winner, and with money he could hire a good staff.

I just want lane. Schiano. Great D mind, but I doubt he runs an up to date offense.

What I was thinking. Could we pay enough for him and then baby Briles to run the O? Whatever we do, I hope we get creative.

He was an interim coach.

I think arkansas just needs to stick with offensive guys. We win on offense. As a state we make WRs. Decent QBs. Speed backs, and athletic DE's.

Our recipe for success is a ton like those old manning colt's teams. Get a head on offense, and let your pass rush T off on QBs playing catch up.

And sucked with the most talented team in the Big 10. Per Wikipedia:

quote:

However, on May 30, 2011, Tressel resigned amid an NCAA investigation and Fickell was appointed to the position of head coach, with a two year contract. After an underwhelming 6–6 regular season, on November 28, Fickell's stint as head coach ended with the hiring of Urban Meyer.

6-6 with the best roster in the Big 10. That makes Bert look like Tom Landry

I am not about to give my support to Fick.... as I want several others first.

However, make sure to look at suspensions, and injuries with that great team. And losing the HC because of the stuff as well.

Several of those great players were ineligible or went packing early. FWIW
