Where did the pitching go this series? Florida roughed up almost every pitcher. Something feels off about that. If it happens again next series then I’ll be really concerned.

Yeah... I was never real confident in this staff is Gaekle was our ace.... hoping to be wrong but doesn't look like I was.

I wouldn't be shocked if we are a 3 seed in a regional.

Our portal haul for pitching was 3 midweek arms.

Brissey from last years class is also arse, not to mention Dossett who is total arse.

Lots of misses from a veteran staff

Looks like we whiffed on the portal all the way around.

Zero starters, and only a few mid relief guys. We pinned our Friday night hopes on Gaeckle, who already failed a starter and showed he’s *much* more suited coming out of the pen. Hell, I’m not sure we even have a Sunday starter anymore. Fisher looks like he’s regressed back to a midweek guy.

Left side of the infield is abysmal to the point we’re having to play both Kozeal and Robinett out of position.

Pompey can’t hit and is a strikeout machine. He has 41 strikeouts in 84 ABs, which is 12 more than the next highest on the team (Niu).

Outfield is a mess. Niu is hit or miss, snd Stewart has been a disaster against SEC pitching. Aloy is too bad in the field to be anything but a DH.

It’s not a stretch right now to say that even making the tournament is a win at this point. Hosting is completely out of the question (and a pipe dream anyway) - our RPI is too far gone at this point.

I’m actually surprised it’s that high, to be honest. Our opponents SEC BA is .286.

Similarly, our ERA in SEC play is 5.81, whereas our opponents’ is 5.77.

Imagine what it would look like without the Friday South Carolina game.

Was thinking the exact same thing and almost included it in my post above.

Think what our team BA would be without that game, and think what our opponents’ ERA would be (in comparison) to ours as well.

It's the worst pitching staff we've had in a long, long time.

DVH said game 3 starter vs Auburn TBD so sounds like Fish is out. Other changes too he said.

DVH’s comments in his postgame presser Sunday were pretty telling about how where his head is. Said emphatically “oh we’ll definitely TBA game 3, 100% percent.” He also said after game 1 that it was “one of the worst games we’ve pitched in a long time.” Basically said we’d get into advantage counts and then nibble, allowing Florida to work back and eventually draw a walk.

Not surprised about Fisher. That quick hook on Sunday was a clear signal. His ERA in SEC games is 8.68.

Fisher’s last few starts:
Florida - 2.1 IP, 3 ER
USC - 2.1 IP, 3 ER
MSU - 4.2 IP, 3 ER
Stetson - 4.0 IP, 3 ER

All losses except for State, which was game 2 of a DH.

Will be interesting to see the other changes. Rutenbar has hit his way into the lineup, so I suspect we’ll see him at 1st and Robinett at 3rd.

It's probably legit the worst pitching staff of DVH's career. I'm not looking that far back but even the god awful non-NCAAT 2016 team had Blaine Knight, Isaiah Campbell, Barrett Loseke.

Looking at the schedule it is very hard to see another series win this season outside of Missouri and even that is on the road and no lock.
