#11 ranked portal class is pretty poor for UA standards.
Doesn't that add credence to the NIL argument?

Which part? That we miss on portal guys a lot or that we cut 30% of the NIL budget for this year per DVH and others and had our worst class and the results speak to it?

A 2 time national championship coaching staff had the #1 HS class and portal class with an over $10M budget and will miss the NCAAT. It can happen to any one any year.

Comparing a dropped foul ball to a two time champion

We definitely missed on some evals, no doubt about it. But IMO the ranking also denotes the immediate effect of not having as much backing.

Obviously we should still be better than we are even with the decrease, but it's hard to argue it's not having an effect.

It is definitely having an effect, immediately. Baseball will get around a million more this year with the new revenue system kicking in for 2026, and as I said before I think cutting the tennis programs was to help get baseball back some money as much as any anything else.

are you hearing this elsewhere? I am hearing Tenns is gone to help football. And baseball was cut to help... BaDaBing... Football. Which honestly sucks.

Gotta find a better way.

Noticed Aloy is really struggling in high A ball, 25 K's in 75 AB's. .240/.297/.427.

Iredale is batting .028.

Davalan the only one doing well so far hitting wise.

All the pitchers other than Gage are getting shelled, Cheese and Root over 7 ERA's.

Saw that coming a mile away. Root was a gamer but he was never what media people talked like he was.

shite I think I'd rather have the pitching. Give me late season Gaeckle with Wood and Root plus Bybee in the pen. Would carry us far.

Eh, maybe I’m just in reactionary mode after scoring an average of 4.2 runs over our last 4 against Missouri and NW State, but give me the 2025 offense.

I will always take pitching over hitting but I am a firm believer good pitching beats good hitting. I am still more jaded from 26 runs in a conference game at home than a series win and midweek win.

The Vitello experiment may not last long in San Fran. It's early but they're even worse than the Rockies right now. They aren't going to tolerate that for long.

I want him so damn bad to be our next coach. Knowing our luck as a program, DVH will stay too long and we will miss the boat on getting him. He will go to (fill in the blank) and win at least one more natty while we hold on to our air trophy.
