Coaches have had more success than baseball in terms of fleecing Arkansas for millions of dollars for piss poor results, and Mike is still coaching

I don't know if that in particular is usual but we definitely produce better basketball players than football players

Basketball has 5 losing seasons the past 20 years, football has 7.

Basketball hasn’t cracked the top 10 in the last 20 years, while football has on different occasions, namecaller

Comparing the coaches and their levels of success is actually kind of interesting.
Houston Nutt = Mike Anderson - "Hometown" hire. Generally wins more than he loses. Stuck in his ways from a philosophy standpoint. Fans will always question coaching aptitude and quality of assistants. Good enough recruiter, but not great. Gets by on just enough in-state talent to survive. Will get extremely ugly when a change has to be made.
John L. Smith = John Pelphrey - Both hired under dire circumstances. Both unmitigated disasters.
Bret Bielema = Stan Heath - Both took over the program shortly after controversy. Midwestern roots, but never a great cultural fit. Hires looked good on paper. Some signs of progress, only Bielema regressed. Heath actually knew how to recruit.
Bobby Petrino = Nolan Richardson - Most successful coaches in the past 20 years. Uptempo style of play. Inglorious departures. That's about where the comparisons end. Nolan was a HOF coach, and Petrino is a HOF a-hole.

Equivalent for basketball would be about top 35, and they’ve done that a lot more often than football cracking the top 10.

You only need 5 players to win in basketball, instead of 23
Posted on 11/13/18 at 9:25 pm to Pigfeet
You need 10 coaches in football
Posted on 11/13/18 at 9:47 pm to pioneerbasketball
10 coaches for 85 players
7 coaches for 12 players
7 coaches for 12 players
