Alabama and Georgia weren't traditional states that Arkansas recruited before joining the SEC. Neither was Florida.
I like Sam recruiting Georgia, Alabama and Florida. Those states have plenty of football talent and Alabama can't get them all.
Arkansas no longer has to depend on Texas to get good players like they did in the past.
I do believe Arkansas high school football is getting better but slowly with Little Rock metro putting out some good football teams.

He hasn't been fully committed for months.
We need defensive backs, not someone wanting to play WR with the 3 we have in this class.

It had been expected pretty much from the time he 'committed'. He was just holding a card (us) in the hole.
I'm certain that the staff knew that as well and have been recruiting accordingly. No surprises here.

Marietta (Ga.) Kell linebacker Justin Logan has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks for the Class of 2024. Logan, 6-3, 205, chose the Hogs at approximately 7 a.m. Wednesday, four days after wrapping up an unofficial visit in Fayetteville for Arkansas' Hogwild Hangout event.
Logan picked Arkansas over four other SEC programs in Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt while also holding offers from the likes of Pittsburgh, Louisville, West Virginia, UCF, Maryland, Duke, Kansas, Georgia Tech, Colorado, Boston College and several others.
"I chose Arkansas because of the atmosphere," Logan said. "It's in the best (conference), the SEC. The coaching staff is just like family. They showed love to every player that walked in no matter their recruiting status. I walked in and felt it."
Logan is the Hogs' first linebacker commitment for the Class of 2024 and was recruited to Fayetteville by first-year defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Travis Williams.
"Really just coach T-Will, he really stood out," Logan said. "A great guy and a great coach. Everyone on the coaching staff talked about how great he is as a coach and just how much respect he has. Even the players. So coach T-Will was definitely a deciding factor between all these schools."
Arkansas plans to start Logan off at the Will position.
"They just talked to me about the same position, Will 'backer, and just staying in the box and just making plays," he said. "I feel like they definitely keep their linebackers clean. The d-linemen keep them clean. If the linebackers can stay clean the more plays they can make."
The Razorbacks' current 2024 class now features 17 total commitments including eight offensive targets in four-star quarterback KJ Jackson of Montgomery (Ala.) St. James, four-star running back Braylen Russell of Benton (Ark.), three-star athlete/running back Jadan Baugh of Decatur (Ga.) Columbia, four-star wide receiver Courtney Crutchfield of Pine Bluff (Ark.), four-star receiver Ashton Bethel-Roman of Missouri City (Texas) Ridge Point, three-star wide receiver CJ Brown of Bentonville (Ark.), three-star offensive lineman Kobe Branham of Fort Smith (Ark.) Southside, and three-star offensive lineman Zuri Madison of Lexington (Ky.) Frederick Douglass.
With Logan now on board, the Hogs also have nine defensive commitments in four-star defensive lineman Charleston Collins of Little Rock (Ark.) Mills, four-star defensive lineman Kavion Henderson of Leeds (Ala.), four-star athlete Julius Pope of Batesville (Miss.) South Panola, four-star cornerback Selman Bridges of Temple (Texas) Lake Belton, three-star cornerback Jaden Allen of Aledo (Texas), three-star athlete Ahkhari Johnson of Texarkana (Texas) Pleasant Grove, three-star defensive back Tevis Metcalf of Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville, and unranked safety Jeremy Cook of Hoover (Ala.).

Marietta (Ga.) Kell three-star linebacker Justin Logan has found his next home. Logan has committed to Arkansas.
Logan chose the Razorbacks over nearly 40 college offers. He became Arkansas’ 17th commitment in the class of 2024. Logan is the third linebacker committed to the Razorbacks.
He made his way to Fayetteville for the first time last weekend.
Arkansas’ summer closing event moved the needle a lot for Logan. He felt as if he were among family members during the visit. That feeling went a long way in selling Logan on the SEC West program.
“The vibe when I was visited was very family like and the stuff they had us do felt like I was at one of my family BBQs,” Logan told On3.
Arkansas’ coaching staff made Logan feel at home immediately.
“The love and hospitality that they showed me and my family as soon as we got on campus was amazing,” Logan said.
Logan knew he wanted to commit as soon as he stepped on campus last weekend.
“I knew as soon as I got on campus and took a facility tour and they showed us every single room in the whole building,” Logan said.
Arkansas didn’t only wow Logan on the visit. He had been building a relationship with defensive coordinator Travis Williams for months. That bond got Logan on campus and intrigued in the Razorbacks.
“The relationship that me and coach Travis Williams built definitely played a big part in my decision,” Logan said.
Justin Logan high on Arkansas’ culture and direction
Arkansas’ culture is family oriented and led by the players. Logan was a fan of that dynamic. He feels players leading players is a key ingredient for success in any program at any level.
“I love the culture over there, I feel like it is player led and the best football teams are player-led,” Logan said.
Logan has high hopes for the direction that head coach Sam Pittman and his staff are taking the Arkansas program. The Razorbacks have been bowl eligible the last two years under Pittman.
They have won a total of 16 games in the last two years. Logan believes in the talent accumulating in Fayetteville. Arkansas has recruited the state of Georgia heavily in recent years.
“I feel like with all the recruits we are bringing in we are capable of being able to continue to compete on a very high level in the SEC,” Logan said.

The recruiting trail is still hot for Sam Pittman’s 2024 class, as the Hogs picked up a commitment from four-star linebacker Justin Logan on Wednesday.
Logan was in attendance for the Hogwild Hangout this past weekend, and made his pledge public on his Twitter account.
A native of Marietta, Georgia, Logan is the first linebacker to jump on board for the Razorbacks in the 2024 class. He held offers from Louisville, Kentucky, Missouri and others.
Logan said he chose Arkansas because of the program’s atmosphere.
"I chose Arkansas because of the atmosphere,” Logan said. “It's in the best the SEC. The coaching staff is just like family. They showed love to every player that walked in no matter their recruiting status. I walked in and felt it."
Arkansas defensive coordinator Travis Williams was an important factor in why Logan chose the Hogs, too.
“He really stood out,” Logan said. “A great guy and a great coach. Everyone on the coaching staff talked about how great he is as a coach and just how much respect he has. Even the players. So coach (Williams) was definitely a deciding factor between all these schools."
Logan came to Fayetteville Saturday fresh off a trip to Louisville. He also took an official visit to Missouri, and saw Georgia Tech’s campus earlier this year as well.
As a junior for Kell High School, Logan recorded 60 total tackles, three of those for loss. He also recorded one sack and one interception.
With Logan’s commitment, Arkansas increases its total for the class of 2024 to 17. He joins four-star running back Jadan Baugh as the second recruit from the state of Georgia in the class.

Does anyone know the story on Walker White? Why the hell are we losing to another SEC school and allowing them to come into our state and take our top QB?

Briles was the OC at the time and we were on QBs that fit his style. Think more dual threat type.
Briles leaves and we try to get in on the race but were too far behind.

This. I think the kid felt slighted. Oh well. We have a good QB room on paper.

Searcy (Ark.) Harding Academy linebacker Wyatt Simmons has committed to Sam Pittman and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Simmons, 6-3, 215, went public with his decision at approximately 5 p.m. Saturday, becoming the Hogs’ 18th commitment for the Class of 2024.
Simmons confirmed with HawgSports that his tweet was to be taken as a verbal commitment to the Hogs.
Simmons chose the home state Razorbacks over Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Illinois, Miami, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Texas, and several others. He is the son of Harding University head coach Paul Simmons, who also offered a full-ride scholarship.
Simmons was offered by the Hogs on May 11 and was recruited to Fayetteville by defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Travis Williams. He is Arkansas’ second linebacker commitment for the 2024 cycle, joining Justin Logan of Marietta (Ga.) Kell.
According to 247Sports, Simmons is a highly-rated three-star prospect, No. 60 among all linebackers across the nation, and the No. 10 overall player in the Natural State. The 247Sports Composite rankings have him at No. 68 at linebacker but No. 7 in the state of Arkansas.
As a junior, Simmons posted 84 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 1 interception, 2 fumble recoveries and a pair of defensive touchdowns. He also ran 12 times for 61 yards and a touchdown while recording 2 catches for 109 yards and 2 scores. In his sophomore season, Simmons caught 27 passes for 279 yards and a touchdown.
The Razorbacks have nine other defensive commitments in four-star defensive lineman Charleston Collins of Little Rock (Ark.) Mills, four-star defensive lineman Kavion Henderson of Leeds (Ala.), three-star linebacker Justin Logan of Marietta (Ga.) Kell, four-star athlete Julius Pope of Batesville (Miss.) South Panola, four-star cornerback Selman Bridges of Temple (Texas) Lake Belton, three-star cornerback Jaden Allen of Aledo (Texas), three-star athlete Ahkhari Johnson of Texarkana (Texas) Pleasant Grove, and three-star defensive back Tevis Metcalf of Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville.
Arkansas also has nine commitments on the offensive side of the ball in four-star quarterback KJ Jackson of Montgomery (Ala.) St. James, four-star running back Braylen Russell of Benton (Ark.), three-star athlete/running back Jadan Baugh of Decatur (Ga.) Columbia, four-star wide receiver Courtney Crutchfield of Pine Bluff (Ark.), four-star receiver Ashton Bethel-Roman of Missouri City (Texas) Ridge Point, three-star wide receiver CJ Brown of Bentonville (Ark.), three-star offensive lineman Kobe Branham of Fort Smith (Ark.) Southside, and three-star offensive lineman Zuri Madison of Lexington (Ky.) Frederick Douglass.
Arkansas lost one of its verbal commitments in June when three-star defensive lineman Dion Stutts of Memphis (Tenn.) MUS was tragically killed in an ATV accident.

The kids film looks legit.
Offer list is even more impressive.
From what I've read, he never had film out until recently and then the offers started pouring in.
Should be a good one.

Simmons should be a solid 4* prospect with that offer list and film, but because he never went to through the Nike/Rivals/UA, etc camp circuit racquet, he is where he is.
Clemson and Auburn both wanted him badly, but he wanted to stay close to home and chose Ark.
