Their mother is apparently quite the handfull on Twitter and they had too much of a "we both gotta get minutes or else" mentality, but, according to folks who know them, they know Arkanss is their last shot and they have tamed down that mindset now.

Don't know if it will actually materialize, but it's obvious Muss has no problems ghosting a player (see what happened to KK and Jax, to a lesser extent, Lykes) if they can't do what he wants or he thinks they can't trusted.

That actually happened to Pelfrey back in 2011 from the mother of that 6'9 dude from Toronto, Canada - I can't remember his name

Long story short, if Pelfrey had had balls he would have told her and the player to hit the road

Muss just Tweeted that Trey Wade will be participating in some NFL tryouts. Dude's got a TE body, that's for sure.

You should start a thread on the SR. We can troll that Muss is building NBA and NFL talent while someone else is desperate to get enough players for a starting 5 (LSU)

With these dudes sizes, speed, and hands.. I never got why all the graduating seniors don’t participate in pro days.. so they get drafted in the 7th round or free agent pick ups and don’t work out. Can always pick up foreign ball later.

FALL PLAYS TO POTENTIAL

quote:

A top 10 player in the class of 2023, five-star center Baye Fall of the Colorado Hawks looked like a man possessed on Saturday during a game against EAB Tennessee. A lean and athletic 6-foot-10 big man, his athleticism has always been impressive but there have been times where his motor and focus have been lacking. That was most definitely not the case as he controlled action on both ends of the floor.

Fall was altering or blocking everything around the rim on the defensive end of the floor, plaing well above the rim offensively and he also snuck in some short jumpers. He communicated with teammates, played hard and generally disrupted everything. The guy looked like somebody who had something to prove, and we had to like what we saw.

So far, he’s only taken an official visit to Arkansas (for which he gave glowing remarks, more on that in a few days) and mentioned other programs like Auburn, Baylor, Kentucky, and Rutgers as just a few of the many that are becoming more heavily involved.

MARSHALL ON THE RISE

quote:

During our Friday coverage we mentioned Arkansas Hawks big man Rashaud Marshall as a guy that caught our attention because of his combination of 6-foot-9 size, athleticism and rugged toughness. We went back to see him on Saturday, and he was even more impressive.

In an era where big men want to prove that they can play facing the rim, all Marshall cares about is playing strong in the paint, crashing the glass and using his physicality to his advantage. He’s not yet played a ton of high school games due to circumstances beyond his control but his relative inexperience doesn’t hold him back at all.

He is another player that is going to be under serious consideration for the rankings and has offers from Arkansas State, Mississippi, Saint Louis, TCU, Texas A&M and Tulsa. His stock is rising quickly, and we would expect the crowds of coaches watching him during the next live period to swell because he’s pretty clearly a high major big man.

BAYE FALL WINS MARQUEE MATCHUP AGAINST SOMTO CYRIL

quote:

Fall got the better of Cyril in one of the most highly anticipated player matchups of the day. Fall was showing off a great motor on Saturday, finishing at a high rate from 10 feet and in. He blocked shots, ran the floor, and even flashed potential with his jumper at times. The five-star forward was engaged on both ends and had a huge impact on the outcome of Colorado Hawks’ matchup with EAB.

LINK

quote:

Assane Diop, C, Colorado Hawks- A four-star prospect himself, Diop is a bit of a forgotten man at times playing alongside five-star Baye Fall. However, Diop is pretty darn good and has started to fill out his lean frame over the last year. He likes physicality in the paint, does a good job on the glass and will run the floor. He didn’t get too many chances to show what he can do on offense but did a nice job of finding opportunities for putbacks and finishes in transition.

“I saw Providence, Arkansas and a few others come to my games,” he continued. “Also I saw Kansas, Arkansas, UCLA and others watching my game. It means a lot to see schools recruiting me come to an early 9:30 game to see me play. They could be anywhere in the country but they came to watch me so that's something for sure.”

Class of 2023 PG - Layden Blocker

quote:

Top 35 junior Layden Blocker played a big game in front of a crowd of coaches for their grind it out win last night. While Blocker had a good scoring performance, what really stood out was his willingness to rebound, defend and get his teammates involved. He finished with
21 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists in front of two assistants from Arkansas, Alabama head coach Nate Oats and three of his assistants, and Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway and an assistant.

Layden Blocker goes on scoring binge and sets visits

quote:

Already the No. 47 player in the 2023 class, Layden Blocker didn’t have a ton to prove in Orlando, but he made a loud statement anyway and a case to move up the Rivals150 in the process. The 20.8 points per game the guard averaged over the weekend ranks fifth in the EYBL. The real rub, however, is the fact that he did it while going 53 percent from the floor and 54 percent from three-point range.

The four-star guard is set to visit Kansas State on May 6-8 and Maryland on May 13-15. Arkansas, Auburn, Oklahoma and others have also long been major players in the race to land his pledge. After his big weekend, coaches from LSU and Alabama also reached out to inquire.

Blocker’s recruitment feels like it may be on the precipice of becoming even more crowded, as he is quickly becoming a more efficient and well-rounded player.

quote:

Blocker has since announced June 6-8 as his Arkansas official visit date.

LINK

quote:

Annor Boateng, SF, Arkansas Hawks 16’s- Already ranked No. 36 overall in the class of 2024, Boateng is a physically tough wing who is blessed with plenty of athleticism. Physically, the dud already looks like a college player and he really carries himself with maturity on the floor never getting too high or too low. He hit a few open jumpers, did damage in transition and has already been on campus at Arkansas, Auburn and Memphis and all three plus others like Oklahoma State and Texas A&M have offered.

2023 five-star guard Rob Dillingham

quote:

Now, Arkansas who is red hot on the recruiting trail has entered the mix.

"They have a great coach," he said of what intrigues him about Arkansas. "They have a great class coming in in 2022 and he lets his guards rock so it’s tough.”

LINK

quote:

Six different programs were in to see Ron Holland over the weekend — UCLA, Kentucky, Houston, Arkansas, Texas, and Auburn. Each of the programs have offered except Kentucky.

I should also note that UCLA and Arkansas were at all of Holland’s games. It makes sense considering the word on the street is Holland is the No. 1 priority recruit for both the Bruins and the Razorbacks.

quote:

Who else is pushing to get him on campus?

“UCLA, Arkansas, and Texas are pushing the hardest to get me on a visit,” Holland said. “But recruiting me the hardest, I would say, honestly, I talk to UCLA every day.”

Five-star big man Baye Fall talks Arkansas

quote:

Five-star junior Baye Fall was doing his thing during last weekend's live evaluation period for the Colorado Hawks on the Adidas 3SSB circuit.

Ranked No. 7 overall by 247Sports the 6-foot-10 big man who played his junior season at Denver (Colo.) Prep has drawn attention from the likes of Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Rutgers, Texas and many others. At first the attention made him uneasy, but now he's learning to deal with it and is starting to have a lot of fun with the process.

“It is fun," said Fall. "It was a lot of pressure in the beginning, my sophomore year but it’s fun now talking to coaches. I’ve learned how to talk to them better and I know what I want and I’m just going to keep enjoying the process until I make a decision.”

While Fall has gotten comfortable with coaches, he's really gotten comfortable with his game. A big time athlete who can run the floor, Fall was dominant over the weekend catching lobs, blocking shots, making jump hooks and hitting short jump shots. His activity level was impressive and while he's still on the lean side, he has started to add strength which he finds beneficial.

“It’s coming pretty good with my body growing and stuff," said Fall. "I’m working with a strength coach, working on balance, quickness, bounce and stuff and I think it is coming together. I think as soon as my body is done growing I will get a lot stronger because right now I’m not doing heavy weights, just light weights.”

quote:

During the season, Fall took a visit to Arkansas and it left a favorable impression on him.

“It was good," said Fall of the visit. "It was an official visit. We have family down there. Me and my dad we went to see family in Fayetteville and then we went there on an official visit. It was fun. They played against Kentucky and it was good game that they won and it was a good atmosphere. I enjoyed that.”

So we're officially done with big men recruiting I guess.

1. ARKANSAS

quote:

Arkansas still has a vice-grip on the No. 1 spot. Arkansas coach Eric Musselman has crushed it in legitimately every single area. He's led Arkansas to consecutive Elite Eight appearances. He's landed three McDonald's All-Americans in the Class of 2022. He's developing NBA guys. So it really shouldn't be that shocking that Musselman is acing the transfer portal.

Missouri transfer Trevon Brazile might be young, but he flashed so much upside in his first season at Missouri. At worst, Brazile is going to be a high-level rim-runner and shot-blocker. At best? Whew, he could be one of the best pro prospects on a LOADED Arkansas roster. He's going to be so good.

All you have to do is throw the ball in the general direction of the rim, and Arizona State transfer Jalen Graham is athletic enough to go slam it home. He can play both the 4 and the 5, and Graham's passing could be a sneaky-big part of Arkansas' offense. Rhode Island transfers Makhi and Makhel Mitchell might be twins, but they'll bring two different games to Arkansas. Makhi Mitchell is a bruising beast who loves to initiate contact and won't back down from anybody on either end. He's really talented and could shine in Arkansas' pick-'n'-roll scheme. Makhel Mitchell is a fiery rim protector who might not be as comfortable handling it as Makhi, but he's a real menace defensively.

How will it all fit together? That's not going to be an easy challenge for Musselman, but having quality depth is incredibly important. It won't be surprising if Brazile, Graham and the Mitchell brothers each have a moment where they single-handedly help Arkansas win a game. Each guy matters on the roster. Everyone focuses on the offense, but this revamped Arkansas frontcourt could be really nasty defensively.

Yes, that's the way it's looking. Just waiting word on JWill. If we could get Terrence Shannon or another good wing who could 3 and D, I think we would be done. It sounds like the staff is going after that type at the moment.

Muss basically openly stated to Pat Bradley as few days ago that they are after a 3-point shooter/wing heavily right now, but so is everyone else.

Shannon would have to make Arkansas the favorite to win it all next year.

Four-star point guard Layden Blocker updates recruitment

quote:

One of the top performers from last weekend's Nike Eybl session one Layden Blocker has reportedly started to set up some official visits according to Hog Sports the 6-foot-2 point guard has set up visits to Arkansas June 6-8, Kansas State May 6-8, and Maryland May 13-15th. Blocker's recruitment is still completely open with Maryland and Kansas State not being a part of his top seven schools he released in mid October.

“It felt good getting out here competing at a high level in the EYBL, he said. I'm coming off a great season with my school team Sunrise Christain Academy so it's nice to come out here and be able to compete at a national level.”

“I think I played well but I just need to show more of my vision, passing, limit turnovers , making the right decisions and not get too deep into the paint.”

While there were many schools in attendance this past weekend in Orlando, Blocker tries not to focus too much on that aspect.

It means a lot for the coaches who came to see me. Coming out all the way to Florida to watch me play feels good and just tells me to keep working. I saw Arkansas before the game but I wasn't too focused on the coaches who came to see me play.

There's no timeline for a decision as Blocker looks to make a commitment next year he tells 247Sports.

15. Makhel Mitchell
Old school: Rhode Island | New school: Arkansas

quote:

Makhel Mitchell is an excellent shot-blocker at 6-10, and if the skill translates to the SEC, he could wind up being the best rim protector of Musselman's time so far at Arkansas. Mitchell can also get buckets in the paint as a roll guy and rim runner. While he lacks a track record with 3-point shooting, he is versatile enough to put the ball on the floor offensively if operating out of the high post. Defensively, he is athletic enough to handle a switch in the pick and roll.

quote:

16. Makhi Mitchell
Old school: Rhode Island | New school: Arkansas

quote:

Makhi Mitchell is a 6-9 forward who began his career at Maryland alongside brother Makhel Mitchell. Both are transferring to Arkansas and should flourish in coach Eric Musselman's system, which has a proven track record of getting the best out of transfers. Makhi is the more versatile player of the two and averaged 9.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in just 24.1 minutes per game last season while shooting 52.2% from the floor. Makhi began to shoot 3-pointers last season, converting on 7 of 23 attempts. If he can add a consistent outside shot to his versatile, defense-first identity, then he can be impact player on an SEC title contender.
