Meh, they are great defenders but would have rather got the Arizona St guy and someone else
We for sure have frontcourt depth now though

So they need to spend the entire summer doing shooting drills huh
Posted on 4/6/22 at 4:15 pm to cubsfan5150
Yeah I was about to say - someone explain to me why I should be excited
Posted on 4/6/22 at 4:17 pm to rockiee
Isn't Makhi the only good one?
Posted on 4/6/22 at 4:19 pm to RazorHawg
Supposedly, but they're still drama queens and turnover machines.

Are we signing both? That would make me more than a little nervous that Jaylin Williams might be gone.

This is the strongest argument
Out of all the transfers in the portal they were graded as the top 7 on the defensive end. Their offense leaves alot to be desired but they would be great defenders when called upon.
Of course Omier is above both of them though

This is actually what worries me most but Muss seems to do good background checks so idk

A URI fan claimed that Mahki had the most potential, but Mahkel was better right now. Personally, they both seem a little slow to me and I don't think either is the biggie we need. They remind me of a poor man's Darnell Robinson.

Looks like both as of now

They're supposedly defensive studs right?
I don't like the idea of signing two guys to equal one productive player, but whatever, I trust Muss.
If he can land Shannon, I'd be ecstatic.

If we want another transfer, somebody else has to go between Jaylin, Devo, Kamani, and Jaxson
Posted on 4/6/22 at 4:36 pm to BallHawg10
Probably between the latter two and I'm guessing it would be Jax since Kamani was on the news this morning.

These guys may actually allow JWill to play the stretch 4 if he can become more consistent with his 3 pt shot as well as Brazile.

Gotta have some quality depth man. This year it was very apparent that quality depth down low was lacking.
Imagine playing Duke a couple weeks back with these two and JWill in and out of the game.
Muss has landed exactly what I thought this team was missing. Trash guys and glass cleaners.

Mitchell Twins Pick Arkansas Basketball
quote:
Makhel (6-10, 245) and Makhi (6-9, 230) Mitchell, twins who played at Rhode Island last season, have signed with the Arkansas men’s basketball program, Razorback head coach Eric Musselman announced. (Note: first names are pronounced Ma-kale and Ma-KAI.)
The Mitchells ranked 1-2 in both scoring, rebounding and blocked shots for the Rams this past season, combining to average 20.3 points, 12.9 rebounds and 3.8 blocked shots per game. In fact, the duo helped Rhode Island rank fourth in the NCAA in blocked shots.
Makhel led URI with 10.7 ppg and 74 blocked shots, ranking 25th in the NCAA at 2.39 blocks per game while averaging 5.6 rebounds. Makhi led the Rams with 7.3 rebounds per game while ranking second in scoring (9.9) and blocked shots (43).
The Mitchell brothers began their careers at Maryland, staying for just one semester (2019), before transferring to Rhode Island. They played two seasons with the Rams (2020-21 and 2021-22) and each has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Musselman has had previous success when signing transfer twins as Caleb and Cody Martin enjoyed stellar careers at Nevada and are now in year three of playing in the NBA – Caleb with the Miami Heat and Cody with the Charlotte Hornets.

The Mitchell boys will be a good fit I think. We canned Vannover and got two 6’10 guys who can actually give minutes.

That makes sense but now with the depth in the front court Jax seems more valuable
