I think everyone drafted today signs. These were pretty much ones they expected to get drafted with Slavens and Stovall big-time bonuses coming back. Now what is interesting when does Jalen Battles get drafted and does he go or stay? Big-time transfer may very well be on way too.

What big time transfer is he referencing?

The only reason that he would drop as far as he has is signability... He's not signing for less than third rd pay I'd guess, or maybe more. I don't see him signing unless a team has come in way under slot and have a lot left over.

So Bishop has to be coming to Fayetteville now, right?

Several options…including going JUCO and taking a chance on draft next year.

I think Bishop is a long shot, but you never know.

Agreed on the juco part... I just don't see him signing at this point

Would someone explain what the advantage of going to JUCO? Does it allow you to immediately enter the draft vs waiting until 21 or something?

Bisbop could go Juco and re-enter the draft next year. However, he could get much better coaching and development at a D1 school, especially one with top notch facilities and one of the top coaching staffs in the country.

This is clear to me, but would he have to wait another year or until 21 if he came D1? Are the rules different D1 vs JUCO?

Correct. If a player forgoes the draft out of high school and goes to a 4 year university, they have to wait 3 years or until 21 y/o. If they juco, they could be eligible for the draft the following year.

Ah got it. Thanks man. Makes sense why so much talent is in JUCO.

Another seemingly arbitrary rule that waters down D1 baseball. Really unfortunate as it could be so much bigger and well received.

I think he deleted it though because it came off poorly, sounds like he is still coming?

I’m sure that’s it.

Did y’all know Stovall's advisor was Jess Todd?

No way the Pirates, with the draft they had yesterday, will have enough left in the pool to sign him....unless he comes way off his number.

My gut says he'll end up in JUCO... but that's just speculation.
