In one quarter, Vanderbilt's Ralph Webb has outrushed Arkansas' entire team against Auburn. In one quarter + 3 minutes, Vanderbilt has scored more points against AU than Arkansas did.

Vanderbilt has the athletes and discipline to at least make AU's offense earn their yardage and points.

So why in year 4 did we look like a pee-wee football team @ AU and Vanderbilt can kick arse? Pathetic!

And no one can use the excuse that they have better athletes than us

Yeah I'm just joking. Arkansas actually put up a pretty good fight @ AU. The score doesn't show how close it was.

Umm. He's very serious? What excuse are you gonna make for why we look the way we do this time?

If anything isn't this proof that Arkansas vs. Auburn was the perfect trap game? Auburn off their bye, in a must-win to preserve their spot in the SEC, playing a team without a bye yet and many injuries, and then Auburn scored early in a primetime game at home to get the momentum from the start to get a quick 21-0 lead in the first few minutes?

Now with their opponent off of a bye, in an 11 AM game, in what was a "meh" game for Auburn meaning they have major opponents coming up... This is the perfect "low emotion let down" that could allow Vandy to punch up in class.

Like it or not, emotion and momentum mean everything to 18-21 year old kids playing football. Most predicted a big Auburn win against Arkansas, even the betting lines. That's because objectively it looked like a bad matchup with all the subjective measures falling to Auburn.

Yes, it sucked and was inexcusable to play flat like that, but Auburn is a team that will run up the score if the opponent plays flat and they keep their momentum, pace, and emotions high.

But you shouldn't sit there and believe Vandy is a better team now. I'd still take Arkansas over half the league.

All the early games look like dog crap for the favored teams so far. 11 AM games suck. Especially late in the season. Ole Miss being beat by Georgia Southern, A&M getting beat by a bad Mississippi State too.

Excuse? The parody in CFB outside of Tuscaloosa is high as ever. Anybody can beat anybody now. And Auburn is playing a RB at QB too.

I agree about momentum and trap games and all that stuff being real. But come on, we lost by 53 points. We rushed for 25 total yards. AU broke the record for SEC rushing yards in a game. We didn't even deserve to be on that field. We looked like a team that AU paid to come lay down for an early season warm up game, and that's being generous!

Arkansas is Gus's super bowl, they spent two weeks preparing for the game similar to a bowl prep. Gus wants to have a bye before Arkansas every year if possible. Take Nutt's motivation while at OM and multiply it by 4.

Source- Gus's immediate family.

I agree with that for the most part but emotion and a bye week wasn't 53 points different. Vanderbilt has a better offensive line and a MUCH better defense at every level. Idk if we have a single player that would start on vandys d and that's sad. Maybe wise or pulley or toliver? I'm sure Sosa would at least be in the 2 deep (since he should be starting here) but other than that they are better than us on that side of the hall and I doubt we offered a single player on that d. If you can't recruit great talent then you have to be able to evaluate. That is 100% on this coaching staff. If vandy can have a serviceable defense then so can Arkansas. Step the frick up bret.

Vandy has followed the Stanford model of recruiting fundamentally sound and high football iq players.

Even standford was able to know off sc at their height, but you can argue they lost way too many games based on that ability during that time span as well.

Came on to make this thread but John beat me to it.

Really scary how Vandy is hanging with aubie and a&m is getting beat by state as I'm walking into stadium hoping we don't get embarrassed again.

I honestly don't know what to expect.

Yeah its not that we lost to the aggies and auburn it's that we weren't even close. This defense and oline is worse than it ever was before he took over. I can never remember a time Arkansas run defense was this bad

MSU's skinny white QB just carried half of the A&M defense into the endzone on a goal line play.
