I know they don't owe us fans anything really, but as a state university our tax dollars paid for their scholarships, stipend, book stipend, and gave them untold how many millions worth of publicity for their post football careers.

Just thinking about how nasty our offense would be with Henry, Kirkland, and Collins back with Austin playing as well as he has been gives me a sad that we can't seem to ever get a talented, experienced group together.

It's been the achilles heel of our entire SEC experience.

It'd be Philon's Sr. year too.

Losing talented players early is the nature of the beast, we just don't have the recruiting to replace those kind of players with ease.

Not really. The school/tax dollars have been repaid 1000x in football & other indirect revenue.

Sadly, the NFL pays more than stipends.

Nah but the Philon one was the most upsetting because he only really played two years. I don't blame those guys for leaving, they all played hard for us.

Is this another dumb thread where you say you were "trolling" at the end?

I really only feel cheated by kirkland and philon. We only got a couple years of philon wrecking shite and kirkland could have used another year now he'll be a cautionary tale for the future.

Well...had he not turned pro, McFadden would still have some eligibility left....so....

Its just part of the game. Everyone loses their very best as soon as they can get to the league.

Agreed.

If Kirkland stays, our line situation is completely different because he's either filling the massive hole at RT or working at one of the guard spots (probably LG) so that Froholdt isn't learning on the fly.
