The benefit of ducking them is outdated. Makes us look scared and pathetic. We don't need a fence around the state and haven't had one for many years anyway. We don't even go after the same caliber of player.
There is no benefit to playing Rice, Georgia Southern or UAPB next year. At least with ASU we can get them for cheap/nothing and it will keep the LR fans happy with a SB non con looking like a "Big Game".
SEC games all are in NWA except A&M. I think wasting a conference game in Jerry World is way more of a problem than LR getting a non con once every other year. It's not like you NWA people have been filling the stadium up the last few years anyway.

Harry Rex ole buddy....if we can't turn ASU into an annual rent a win, then we do need to consider the Big-12.

Bobby didn't embarrass the U of A as much as Long did.
Bobby fricked up, and Long made sure everyone knew about it as quickly as possible.
Fast forward to this ASU business... we can't/won't commit to recruiting with the relevant programs in our conference, so let's schedule the in-state Sun Belt opponent and redirect Joe-average fan's attention over there.

The day Razorback football received the death penalty.
Sure Long could've swept it under the rug. But eventually the story would've came back to haunt us is some shape form or fashion.
The fake Hog media would've blasted Long to no end.

what are you ranting n about? Dude, we couldnt recruit or use the WMS games to recruit. Having SEC games there when recruits would have been able to participate if on campus.

Are you actually saying this announcement will help recruiting?? Scheduling a fricking Sunbelt team?
Scheduling Oklahoma helps recruiting. Scheduling FSU helps recruiting.
Scheduling ASU is a pathetic joke that just reaffirms where our football program is with this group of administrators and boosters.
edit - let's just bring on baseball... it's a sport where even in a down year our team is entertaining and ADs/Boosters have left DVH well enough alone beyond supporting him with facilities.
It's a sport where where we'll have roughly 50% attrition with every incoming class. Because Talent.
It's a sport where we're committed to winning.

Making a big deal out of scheduling Arkansas State makes the program look like the fricking losers everyone else thinks they are.
- Let aTm dictate where we play them on any given year
- Let LSU cast off our Thanksgiving matchup for someone the SEC clearly deems more worthy
- Get ourselves embarrassed by fricking Missouri every year
Actually, Arkansas football deserves Arkansas State in WMS where both the play clock and game clock will find a way to malfunction at least twice in a game.
