You’re probably not very good at cards. You’ve got to hold onto that until you’re ready to use it.

Lolol both schools are already all-in, and no one else is playing this round. No point in hiding the cards but oh yeah I'm sure that there's a ton of Ole Miss lurkers who are gonna flame me for posting it in our board a few days before it happened dude they will bite no matter what if we hired LK.

Oh. Did he later "unlike" it? Because it doesn't show as one of his liked tweets.

He might have but he certainly did like it and was like that for at least an hour or two. This is thread about it somewhere on here but things get buried quick.

He unliked it the next day. Probably after he realized all of Arkansas was talking about it.

Our local media is so turned around that they couldn't be any more lost if they were in the hedge maze from The Shining.

Now to be honest, sometimes our local media is right on the money.

Generally by accident since the sheer number of times they were horribly wrong means they have to screw up and be right sometime.

What's funny to me in all of this is that during this search, like the last, we here seem to have been pretty close to what Yurachek was looking at in terms of candidates. Both times info is "leaked out" that the dudes we have mentioned on this very board was either contacted or interviewed. Not much traction seemingly being gained on any other candidates either. Unless Bryan Harsin is in the mix.

It's as if the Arkansas sports media does their job based solely on what they read online.

What this tells me is that we are likely wrong about a lot of this shite. Way off base. It's just being fed to us because that's what we were already discussing.

It also seems as if there is some level of coordination between us and Ole Miss on all of this. I think they've both got their guy locked up and they're pumping the rumor mill themselves.

It's probably Kiffin, IMO. But no matter how it shakes out, our local media is woefully inadequate.

It is a bit concerning that the Arkansas sports media might be bad enough at their jobs that they are peeking in on us and other forums to get "scoops".

It has been that way as long as I can remember. They know what the AD tells them.

On the other hand, when they start to turn on someone like a coach you also know it is all over. When the knives come out in the local press that coach might as well start contacting realtors.

EDITED because the auto correct went insane.

Well, being a mouthpiece for the university isn't a big deal during a coaching search because it only benefits the university to keep people in the dark. But there could be other situations when having a bitch-arse media isn't a good thing. It's fertile ground for potential corruption, IMO. Not alleging anything, just remarking on the role the media plays in our lives. Or should.

I'm sure as long as Trey Biddy is allowed to come out from under his bridge to eat free lunches on the university dime he is more than happy to pass on ridiculous rumors like Barry Lunney as totally credible, legit journalism.

In an ideal world we have a free and active press that holds the people in power's feet to the fire.

The only word that matters is when HY announces the new coach, and he hasn't said a word. Everything else is internet speculation and media guys using it to drive traffic. I'm amazed at how easily spun fans are. Ole Miss and Hog fans have created this whole shite show out of nothing.

I’m caught up in it it but I agree. I don’t think Lane is either school’s top option. Norvell is still out there with FSU trying to raise enough money to hire him.
