If there were any truth to this stuff Arkansas would have never fielded a talented defense, ever. And they have. Many times.

When was the last time we had a good defense?

Doesn't matter what I think. And you can post a thousand times that you don't like Gus and no one in the hiring process will give a single frick.

What ties does venebles have to arkansas? if any at all?

The answer here is there are no direct ties to Arkansas. Kansas State guy, Bill Snyder protege type. Obviously extremely successful as a defensive coordinator, and there is at least one guy who was rumored to maybe be the next AD who is lobbying for him to be the guy.

And we went 2-6 in the SEC. Thanks for proving my point.

Eh, just needed a competent coach and we would have won a few more games that season

It was a trap, somebody had to walk into it.

So, the order for head coach candidates, which many assume is common sense:

1. Gus
2. Norvell
3. Leach

I'm pretty sure it won't be.

I'd say the choices look more like.

1. Norvell
2. Leach
3. Venables

No.

1. Gus
2. Norvell

That's the list and the only list we'll need.

Leach would have been a candidate with Long here, but not anymore. Venables isn't looking to be a HC, nor is he qualified for this job.

It will not be Gus Malzahn and Venables IS, in fact, being pushed by some folks involved in all this.
