What makes you think he couldn't? He won 9 last year and year five is 2 full years off... Just because Bert and Chard folded when shite started rolling doesn't mean Pitt will.... Although it's possible

In year five Sam could have the program in a position to win nine games or more.

It will be the first year that he will have HIS players for the very first time.

Just because they are experienced doesn't mean they are any good.

A lot of the players on the roster are Chad players.

Like with Houston, we'll always have a pretty good line. That gives you a chance.

That era from post Sam with Bert oline through Chad wanting skinny lineman was just god awful

I do, the operative word is "can" and here is the if's!

If, he will let go of assistants/Coordinators when he should. I was a bit taken aback by his comments down talking the passing game but not saying a thing about getting torched.. Or not much anyways .. about the defense.

If, he continues developing his, HIS players forwards and using the portal well.

If, he has the $$$ for Nil and coaches he needs.

If, the fans give him the support and time.

Man, we were pure old crap not that long ago. Just crap period. Changing that culture takes a bit of time, realization, want too, and pride. When is the last time this program had true pride overall?

Mind blowing that anyone believes the University would have been sued over Petrino hiring some side piece. That shite probably happens daily at UA.

yep

I GUARANTEE Meyer hired personal skanks to work in UF's and OSU's athletic departments. GUARANTEE. The difference? UF and OSU are real athletic programs that do what needs to be done - look the other way.

it was already reported by a Florida radio station, and then that shite was zapped into oblivion - this was before and during the Petrino years

Absolutely could have been sued. That’s not even debatable.

anyone can be sued at any time for any thing

I can have an acorn drop on my head and sue you for it

You must have missed the Urban Meyer/Zach Smith and Dan Mullen incidents. The digital world has changed everything. You’re not sweeping anything under the rug like you could twenty years ago once it’s out on social media.

Meyer got away with the same stuff Petrino did before and during the same exact time

Kind of difficult to do when your coach is in a neck brace, and skinned up like he has been dragged by a horse. The only way you keep side piece out of it is to get a state trooper to lie. Eventually everyone is tangled up in that web. And yes, I’m pretty sure laws were broken.

the state trooper didn't want anything to do with it, but he had the local foaming at the mouth media all over him

you're pretty sure which laws were broken?

But would you have an actual case? If BP stayed on there was potential for a civil suit.

I think Meyer had a more positive reputation than Petrino at that time. It also helps he won titles and people are willing to look the other way.

You mean aside from the fact that he hired his sidepiece over 158 other applicants, using state funds to pay her?

Imagine the governor having a job opening in his office, hiring someone unqualified for the job over 158 other applicants, and then finding out he hired her simply because he liked fricking her. Does that sound legal to you?

He triedv to circumvent a university affirmative action policy requiring that the job be posted for at least 30 days before interviews could commence.

Also you have to take into account how does his side piece react when she's let go and he isn't? Sexual harassment suit?

What does that say about this year?

We're staring a 4-5 win season in the face right now.

Not sure how anyone sees any Ws beyond Liberty and Missouri at this point. shite we've proven we could easily lose both of those as well.

I’m doubtful that the lawsuit would’ve been more costly than letting Petrino to was

You think auburn is a guaranteed loss? What world are you living in. The only bad loss was to the Aggies and even then we were in it to the end and had to do everything wrong to lose. I’d say the Mississippi schools are the only games we won’t be favored in. Byu Liberty auburn and Missouri will all still be wins. Byu being the most likely to also drop

Guaranteed loss? No. But chalking it up as a W is also dumb.

They beat the shite out of us last year... and we clearly can't stop the run or score soo.....

BYU is way better coached and executes at a high level. They're going to shred our defense and its a terrible road game at high altitude.

Missouri just took UGA to the wire. Going to be their Super Bowl at home....

We need to make significant improvement for me to see anything better at this point. We looked worse against Bama than A&M.
