No one is saying he’s terrible, but he hasn’t been the same without Obanor. Muss has a game plan to let him get his and stop Obanor when we played them. Duke 4-15 5 TO 12pts SDST 2-10 4 TO 12pts SDST 3-6 3 TO 8pts UH 1-13 3 TO 3pts

I agreed that he’s struggled somewhat against stronger competition this season. I’m just saying

1. It’s not a huge sample size
2. He’s played well vs decent competition in the past
3. It’s a little unfair to judge his performance vs teams where the guys he had to work with were outmatched completely by the opponent.

Abmas is also one of the worst defensive players in the nation.

We need shooters, but they MUST be able to play average defense.

We seem to be in a lot of players final cuts, without much roster space.

I’ve had Battle at the top of the wishlist but Jalen Bradley would be nice as would the melts.

It’s just crazy to see some folks really excited over people like Mack and Olivari who are also horrible on defense.

I dunno. It just seems like it’s okay to get excited about Abmas just as much as anybody would be excited over Battle, Olivari, or Mack. For the most part, we’re talking about players who had great stats in bad conferences and sometimes even for bad teams. But not many of them have a lightning in a bottle Sweet 16 run on their resume.

Keyon Menifield (81)

89 offense, 38 defense

Another go-go offensive initiator, Menifield graded as Washington’s best offensive player despite lackluster shooting. He’s a 6’1 point guard who dished out 4.1 assists per 40 against just 2.2 turnovers per 40. Shooting is a concern: just 33% from beyond the arc and only 15% free throw usage. He’s also a poor rebounder and poor defender, though his 1.05 kills per foul suggests potential to improve.

Here’s the blurb on Menifield from Adam Ford from his article on all the potential guys we are after LINK

Here's some highlights from the game where he dropped 27 on Oregon.

We have missed a hard nosed inner city PG since Kareem Reid graduated. Fortson tried but he wasn’t it.

If this kid can come in get down the lane quick and dish it around, and play semi decent defense I’m on board.

It’s better than an inconsistent can’t play defense guard play we saw this year.

I don't think he'd start over Blocker but you never know.
