I like the bats that have emerged. Souza and Lovich are going to be extremely hard to keep out of the lineup.

Souza probably platoons in the middle IF and spots at DH when Stovall is back in the field.

I think Lovich starts in LF next weekend over Jones.

DVH probably keeps platooning Holt and Sandlot at 3rd.

I'm quite optimistic at how we are evolving at the plate.

Getting close to being a unanimous #1 this week…but the NCBWA decided to put a team Arkansas is 1-0 against in their top spot, Oregon State. The Beavers were ranked behind Arkansas last week in their poll.

I'm actually shocked that Gage Wood's ERA is only 3.38 so far. It feels like he's been getting shelled.

Just looking at Oregon States remaining schedule...they do not have another ranked team on their schedule the entire year. They very well may only lose a couple of games the rest of the way. The Pac 12 is woefully weak this year. One team has an RPI inside the top 45, and that is Oregon State.

These A&M baws are about to realize they're no longer playing Incarnate Word and Presbyterian Vet School.

Mind bottling.

I wonder if that helps more in the post season, or hurts? It seems as if they'd be able to rest their arms more during the season due to their (lack of) competition.

I think it hurts them, because come postseason time their lineup will be unaccustomed to facing quality pitching, and their pitchers will be facing decent lineups for the first time.

There's something to be said about the SEC being a murderers row and getting teams ready for the postseason due the depth and quality of opposing lineups and pitching.
