I keep thinking that our bats will wake up big time in a few weeks.

Arkansas scored more points in those three days and still lost.

The yearly Nate Thompson sucks posts.
He needs to go man.
He needs to go man.

Dave is going to need to get that bullpen under control, though.
I really like the entire staff honestly. Kids just aren’t going to be perfect every outing. See McEntire on Friday night. Wood made one bad pitch that night as well. Faherty saved our asses Friday, but was off last night.
It is what it is. The potential is there to have the best full pitching staff Arkansas has ever had.
Here’s the way I look at the weekend…we won 2/3. The most important game, we won on Friday night. You’d expect a lull in the game after that one, which happened. We lost 2-1 in 14 innings. So it took Oklahoma State 14 innings to beat us on what may be one of our worst nights. That’s fine.
Bounced back today and won. Took 2/3 during the tourney. It’s a winning weekend. Let’s move forward. Get our bats going and figure out the lineup against Grambling, Murray State, McNeese, UCA, ORU, and Missouri.

Also, Oregon State is up 8-1 in the 6th.

No doubt. I like the fact we won 2/3 and all were 1 run games. Team shows some toughness.

having this adversity earlier in the season, hopefully will pay dividends for future games, especially in conference games.

Yeah, I'm happy with the weekend. We know we have solid pitching. Hitting is contagious. We're about to tee off on some weaker teams for a bit.
The guys that can and can't hit will show themselves during that stretch.
I'm far more concerned about figuring out the bullpen than the hitters, at this point. Too small of a sample size against quality pitching to really evaluate the hitting properly so far, in my opinion.

Updated slash lines coming out of the GLF series:
Jared Sprague-Lott .479 / .571 / .714
Kendall Diggs .370 / .514 / .519
Ben McLaughlin .333 / .438 / .444
Ty Wilmsmeyer .269 / .367 / .385
Peyton Holt .250 / .333 / .333
Hudson White .208 / .367 / . 500
Wehiwa Aloy .167 / .265 / .200
Jayson Jones .133 / .235 / .133
Ryder Helfrick .083 / .214 / .333
Team OBP is okay, while slugging is in the toilet. Outside of Sandlot, Diggs and McLaughlin no one is really hitting well. We have 3 players under the Mendoza line and White hovering around it, which is less than ideal.
Aloy tops the lineup with 11 strikeouts.
Plenty of time for bats to come around, and I anticipate we’ll see a ton of tinkering with the lineup the next two weeks.
Also, one thing to note is the field dimensions of GLF and the fact it’s a pitcher’s park. There were several balls hit (a few of them by Diggs) that would have been out of every SEC stadium that were instead routine fly balls at GLF. Granted, that goes both ways, but our pitching staff didn’t give up many hard hit balls or long fly balls that would’ve been homers in Baum (or elsewhere).

Attendance numbers from a couple games this past weekend.
Arkansas vs. Oregon State: 13,038
Arkansas vs. Oklahoma State: 16,271
For those not there, I would estimate that 90% of the crowd for Oregon State were Arkansas fans and about 85% of the crowd for Oklahoma State were Arkansas fans.
No attendance released for yesterday's Michigan game.

Sprague-Lott’s fielding % is .737
5 errors on the season. We have 9 as a team. Nobody else on the team has more than 1.

Can someone sell me on Thompson? Our batting average, as a team, has been less than stellar for a number of years. Our recruiting classes have been ranked high for a number of years. Yet, when I look at other SEC teams, their averages are always higher.
On top of that, when it comes to nut cutting time, our bats go silent.
Am I being short sighted? Am I missing something? Am I spot on? What's going on?
It's a trend that I'm tired of seeing.

Sandlot sure can hit though. I foresee him being locked into a DH role, especially when Stovall is back.

Arkansas leads the SEC in runs scored (2,508) and runs batted in (2,326) since 2018.
That’s all I’ve got
