Do we think every team in sports doesn't have a long list of close calls?

Arkansas is not unique in that

Two Natty's since 1963
One wasn't really recognized but, I'll still claim it because I was there.

Now do the other teams in our conference.

Track, soccer, volleyball and tiddly winks doesn't count.

That describes several teams in our conference and our region of the country
It is not a unique profile at all.

Teams with 2 national championships or less in the big 3 since 1963.
Auburn
Ole Miss
Missouri
Mississippi State
South Carolina
Tennessee
Texas A&M
Vanderbilt

That is 9/14, or most of the conference

Believe it or not, winning shite is hard in college sports. We aren't "cursed" by Frank Broyles, Houston Nutt, Carson Shaddy, Reggie Fish, Clint Stoerner, Stephens family, John White, DVH, Wally Hall, firing Nolan Richardson, War Memorial Stadium, Jerry Jones, or anything else.

We are middle of the pack athletic program in the toughest conference in the country. If we have an exceptional team, we can win it all with some luck. But to expect to and mad when we don't is ridiculous. It's not because we are cursed, it is because it is hard as shite to do.

The remainder are all sports bluebloods that have always had structural advantages and always will. At this point, top talent goes to these schools because of past success, not because they like the campus tour or like the weight room.
Alabama
LSU
Kentucky
Georgia
OU
Texas

The only case for "growing into" a powerhouse is Florida. Otherwise the programs listed above tend to be all around their historic average, with some fluctuations over the years based on a stud player of above average coach.

If you want to become a fan of another school because they win more, go for it. It's not like its illegal or anything. But to expect Arkansas to start winning NCs routinely is not going to happen. I thought most fans on this board understood our position, it was the other board with the unrealistic expectations that we are a sleeping giant ready to unleash itself on the NCAA in every sport every year if only our various curses and hexes would be lifted somehow

Mizzou
Aggie
Blow U
Texass

Bama
LSU
Kentucky
UGA

All spend millions because they GAF

FWIW, I'm old enough to remember the ups and downs of Razorback sports. And the fact the these young bucks think we can compete is laughable at best.

Maybe DVH can get us there ir maybe not. The premise was he had a shot and missed.

I'm not in the fire DVH bandwagon because I had tickets at George Cole field when baseball fans were the diehards.
Norm built a team and DVH had the keys to the Corvette.

What this team has done for the last two years is unacceptable for Razorback baseball standards.

It'll be interesting watching the program moving forward.

That is too long at one place. DVH should have told him to go look for other jobs as the bats keep regressing. Make changes and adapt.

They had plenty but won plenty as well.

It is more apparent at Arkansas to look at the bloopers because winning anything big is a rare occurrence. Look at baseball, They only been to two CWS final appearances which isn't good compared programs with elite histories. 1979 and 2018. Almost 40 years. Just looking at history and you go by that, it could be decades before Arkansas is back in a CWS final. This is why the foul ball blooper was so devastating.

Goes to show how little the regular season means as long as you have talent. Muss was the same way here.

DVH postgame saying "we need better athletes" was pretty telling though.

I'm pretty indifferent outside of Aggie. If Aggie gets one before us I give up on sports entirely.
