This pitcher's motion and delivery is jacked up.

Slavens gonna be below the Mendoza line in SEC play. Such a dud.

That was a bad loss. Wasted opportunities galore.

Slavens, Polk and Bolton simply can't be in the lineup, especially in order (in the lineup).

Abysmal game on our part. Didn't deserve to win with the mistakes we made.

When Wagner is back I want to see diggs DHing and McLaughlin at 1st.

Shitty game plan and execution from the coaching staff on down.

I wouldn’t expect much from Wegner when he comes back. He’s going to play 1 series and go straight into the post season. It’s going to be tough to get his timing/swing back with no midweek cupcakes.

What did the coaching staff do wrong? We had one available catcher that has game experience. Bolton’s defense was a big reason we swept Tennessee last week. DVH yanked him when it was clear he didn’t have it. What would you want done differently? Maybe they could have pulled Hollan, but that would have taxed the bullpen for the rest of the series and the 5 we scored was a bigger issue than the 6 they scored. To lose 3 of your 4 best pitchers and now one of your top 2 hitters and remain a half game in front in the west is pretty remarkable

Polk and Bolton may be two of the worst hitters I’ve ever seen wear a Razorback uniform.

And I don’t say that in a mean-spirited way — I’m rooting for those guys. I want them to have that redemption arc Cali has had and bust out. But they are producing the lowest output at the plate that I’ve ever seen. Rowland isn’t far off their clip, either.

Crazy to me that we consistently have a lineup with 2 of those 3 in it more often than not.

And as I said today about Slavens, he is who he is at this point, though his plate discipline seems to have regressed significantly this year. All too often he swings at junk off the plate and consistently finds himself in 0-2 or 1-2 in counts. You almost never see him in an advantage count anymore.

Game was lost in the 3rd and the 8th.

The 3rd when Georgia’s lineup turned into the 1927 Yankees and they were hitting everything, and the 8th when we had the bases juiced with no outs and proceeded to strike out 3 times in a row.

Looks like we’ll be seeing more of Polk

Rowland injured and out for the rest of the Georgia series per DVH

You want him to play someone at catcher that has zero game action this year

DVH obviously failed at finding a high end catcher in the transfer portal, but with what is on the roster and Roland injured there isn’t much he can do. Cal Kilgore is the only other catcher listed on the roster and I don’t even know if he’s still on the team. I don’t believe he has a single AB

Stovall should’ve went into the draft. At this pace he cost himself a lot of money.

I was just thinking that today but wasn't sure if it was him. He was a 2nd round draft pick out of high school wasn't he?

He would’ve been drafted 29th out of high school (slot value of $2.42 million), but pulled himself out to come here.

Someone said it best yesterday in this thread, but we basically have a “half-lineup” right now.

We have about 5 players (Josey, Ibruprofen, Wegner, Diggs, and sometimes Cali) who you feel comfortable seeing when they come to the plate that they’re going to get a hit, grind out a walk, or at least battle.

The other 4 (Stovall, Slavens, [insert catcher], and Bolton) are guys who are 0 for 4 with 2 strikeouts more often than not.

The problem with those guys is that they’re not even drawing walks because they have poor plate discipline and routinely find themselves in disadvantage counts.

Look at these strikeout-to-walk ratios and how few walks these guys are drawing:

Stovall — 5BB, 12K in 62 at-bats
Slavens — 3BB, 13K in 55 at-bats
Rowland — 2BB, 24K in 49 at-bats
Bolton — 4BB, 17K in 38 at-bats

Diggs has as many walks as those 4 combined.
