Great. Now we have to deal with Cali for at least another month.

If DVH benches Diggs for Cali during an SEC weekend I'm streaking on the field.

Lol. Exactly. Diggs would be on the field if he didn't have a noodle arm.

Good game Hogs. Pitching should be entertaining tomorrow to say the least.

I top out at 86 but my spitball is legendary. Should only need about 12 runs of support.

It'll be pitching by committee for both teams.

Not to be Debbie Downer, but we’ve given up 22 hits and 15 hits in our non-bullpen games in this series, so I don’t have a ton of optimism for tomorrow.

Bama’s lineup has been killing our pitching. That 9th inning was the only time in this series where we’ve retired Bama batters in order. That’s so bad it’s impressive.

Baseball’s a weird sport. Bama’s hitters could hit us all over the place the last two days and struggle tomorrow. Who knows.

Bybee only pitched 2 innings midweek against Omaha. But he was giving up 3 ER on 43 pitches so who knows

I know none of us want Bolton at SS, but Coll isn’t the answer either. Here are his numbers in SEC play:

Auburn
0 for 2, 1 K
1 for 4
1 for 4, 1 K

LSU
0 for 5, 2 K’s
0 for 2, 1 K
0 for 1

Bama
0 for 2, 2 K’s
0 for 1, 1 K

Total: 2 for 21 with 8 strikeouts

Can someone explain the pitching situation to me like the golden retriever that I am? Is it the injuries? Bad recruiting? Guys just being duds?

How do we have this 8 figure facility and continue to struggle so badly with pitching depth? It’s going on 3 years in a row right?Isn’t the schollie thing basically null with NIL or is no money making it to baseball?

Curious on opinions from guys with knowledge.

1. Hobbs sucks. No actual coaching and development.
2. We all drank the koolaid on the whole deepest pitching staff
3. Injuries don't help. Injuries were bound to happen from overuse as always.

I saw the ejection of Bama's assistant yesterday but didn't realize the ladies had some ejection comedy of their own on Friday...

I just don’t think any college teams are going to have 8 different pitchers who are going to be reliable every outing. For as bad/shallow as we thought our pitching was two years ago we still finished 3rd in the SEC in ERA. Even LSU fans last weekend complained about their bullpen and how they had two starters barely go three innings against A&M and that’s the #1 team in the country.

Injuries definitely haven’t helped either, we essentially lost an entire Friday game worth of pitching with Wiggins, Frank and Tygart and probably a few innings they would have pitched on Sundays. I haven’t been as down on Smith not starting as most have because we have to get the same number of outs either way. Doesn’t matter if we give up 5 runs at the beginning or at the end of games they all count the same.
