Morris is lucky the ball isnt carrying today. Would have been gone most days.

Announcer just call Morris, Ramage.

I wish Morris was Ramage.

Ramage gets a bad rap. He had his moments where he pitched batting practice, but he did a very good job as an innings eater last year. While he did have a 4.8 ERA, which was third worst on the staff, he also had the most appearances and by far the most innings pitched out of pen.

Morris, on the other hand, is a different story. No reason at all for a senior with 3 years of SEC experience to have an ERA over 14.

Both teams kicking the ball around today. These midweek games have been very….midweek.

But hey, kudos to Bybee for a good outing. And good on Coll for making the most of these 2 games.

He pulled his ole britches down and flashed a 16 incher to DVH. Coll looked outstanding.

I feel like Coll more than earned himself a weekend series, but we'll see.

Meh, he also was unlucky with the number of errors behind him. Diggs let the two runs score on a ball your average high school outfielder catches. Once he settled in he wasn’t too bad. His WHIP for the game was .667. Hopefully he can build off of the way he finished.

Agreed.

Not only did he rake, he looked good defensively there and made a few laser throws to first.

Cali is meh at the plate and both he and Holt are a defensive liability.

I say put Coll at 3rd this weekend.

I am all for seeing Coll full time at SS and never seeing Polk again. If Cali is out, I wish Jones would get more ABs.

Polk is a catcher.

But I agree that I’d also like to not see him again

Not having the knowledge of several on here, how does this equate to past years performance overall. Are we in line to be a decent team once more, or... ohhh crap?

SOme of those look good, others terrible. thanks

Actually figured we’d be higher than this.

ERA: 11th (4.74)

Higher ranking than I expected. I would’ve believed last in the conference

Opp Batting Avg.: 13th (.264)

Sounds right.

Batters Struck Out: 14th (156)

Feels right. This staff is not getting K’s like we did last year, and we’re giving up an alarmingly high under of two strike hits.

Errors: 3rd (17)

Way higher than I thought considering how poorly our defense has played.

The offense seems to be ahead of where many might have thought, considering the amount of new faces. There's still potential to be even better offensively if Coll is more ABs over Bolton and if Polk only sees time in midweek.

Pitching is finally starting to come along as well. McEntire looked much better last weekend. Dylan Carter unexpectedly adding another lefty relief arm is huge. Morris looking better yesterday definitely looks promising. Hopefully, Tygart comes back strong from his injury. Even Bybee and Ledbetter looked good. I know it was just UNLV, but they are actually a decent club offensively.

We might not be a national seed, but when you have 3 legit starting pitchers, and 2 of those being lefties and a decent offense, that's an awesome formula to get to Omaha. Those, plus, some relief starting to emerge and it looks even more promising. Time will tell though in conference play.

So uhhhh rotation has been announced this weekend as

Friday - Hollan

Said “Hagen is not hurt but we’re mixing things up due to injuries.”

Hmmm...maybe Bybee's great start this week coupled with McEntire's recent performance gave Dave enough confidence to move Hagen to the bullpen while Tygart recovers. God knows we could use him there.
