Dropped 4 spots in the BA rankings.

I see this team as Top 20 right now, not top 10. Although, we could be Top 10 or even top 5 at end of the year.
If McEntire from the end of last season shows up, watch out. We'll have such a strong starting rotation. Its scary to think about. Smith and Hollan give us two very very solid LHPs.
The main battles continue to be at 3B and C, even though it seems Jones is in the lead. He has 20+ HR potential. Even Cali is not too far behind that if the light comes on for him.
I dont know if I really undwrstand why Polk is in the lead at C. Rowland can't be that much worse defensively and if his bat is supposedly that much better, I'd rather he get more reps.
Bolton is probably the biggest surprise. That kid can play. Stovall is probably the biggest disappointment even thouhh he did draw 4 walks.
Wegner, that dude is legit. Josenberger was ok. I wouldn't mind seeing Neville get some more reps as well just to really see what he can do.

14 game home stand let’s this group get right. McEntire was lousy the other night, but he has shown to be nails and I don’t have a worry about him. He has proven himself on the big stage.
I think over the next couple of weeks we need an answer at third, and shore up the infield. We left a few double plays out there this weekend that could’ve possibly altered the TCU game.

McEntire was a little unlucky with a couple borderline calls at the plate and a bang bang play at first. Those go his way and maybe he has a respectable outing. Either way I don’t see many pitchers shutting down tcu. They’re like osu from last year. Gonna have to go toe to toe with them at the plate and we had the wrong lineup for that Saturday.

I think if this were SEC play, McEntire is probably allowed to fight through the adversity. I feel like DVH wanted to use it as an opportunity to throw some freshmen arms into the fire.

RHP Ben Bybee to start on the bump tomorrow vs Grambling St.

First thoughts upon looking at the numbers:
- Wegner is raking
- had no idea Bolton’s BA was that high
- Josenberger’s numbers weren’t as good as I thought
- Ibuprofen’s numbers were better than I thought
- our catchers were an offensive weakness
- Cali…oof
- we’re still striking out way too much
- walk-to-strikeout ratio is too high

Unfortunate start and an unfortunate last name.
Guess the question about how we were going to replace Gregory got answered.

Inflated by infield hits. He does look more poised at the plate this year but there’s a lot of swing and miss.

Same. Probably why I assumed he was batting better than .231.
I’m excited about TJ. A switch hitting CF with speed is a dream come true.
And let’s not forget what he brings in the field. The Flo announcers mentioned at one point that there were several balls lasered into LCF and RCF that looked off the bat to be sure hits that he somehow got to.

At least that second base ump gave us a mercy out call on that steal attempt

Looks like the staff and team thought Grambling would just come in and rollover. Playing down to the competition is truly an Arkansas thing.
