Looking at the weekend as a whole, I’m feeling mostly positive. Definitely not worth the melt Fri/Sat.

I’m not unhappy, though I didn’t like last night. This is a new team and there were a lot of positives to pull from this weekend.

There will be some changes made.

And hats off to Arkansas fans for showing up and representing our school at this tournament. That’s a huge positive for our program.

Small crowd for this last game with mizz and tcu.

He pitched again today and struck out all 3 batters he faced. In case you missed it.

You can probably go over the first three years of this tourney and I’d bet that the largest 5-6 crowds are all involving Arkansas.

Jayson Jones stands in the box like a damn pro. He's going to be really good.

What is it with Texas and falling apart? It is the new tradition down there.

They’re 0-9 in their last 9 games against SEC opponents in the big 3 sports.

7 in a row in baseball
2 in a row in football (Hogs in ‘21, Bama in ‘22)

I reserve my pitching melt until we see more from the guys that got taken behind the woodshed Saturday night. We just reused guys that were effective against Texas (Frank, Adcock) until Wood came in with a 17 run lead to close with on Sunday.

Frank, Adcock, and Morris seem solid enough out of the bullpen. Tygart is that dude and looks to be one of the better closers in the conference. Wood looked 1000x better when he wasn't being thrust into a high-stakes situation in his first college appearance ever. I imagine it'd be similar with a lot of the freshmen. Carter had flashes but ultimately wasn't effective. McEntire obviously has to be way better. Small sample size and it's baseball, but I'll feel way better about our pitching if we can get a couple more names to contribute.

Cali left the door wide open and Jones SPRINTED through.

Josenberger looks really good at the plate as well.

100% agreed. And now we have 14 games in a row between now and conference play to get this figured out. Let’s get Cali turned around, get Mac’s confidence back, and go to work finding some good arms out of the pen.
