If it were me I'd use smith in game one and Hollan in game 2(or vice versa). Not both in a single game. Can't overlook game 1 to save arms for game 2 and we don't have enough depth to use them both up in the same game in my opinion.
I’d like to see Hollan game 1 and see if you can get 6-8 out of him. That leaves Smith, Tygart, McEntire for games 2-3.

So do y’all think Wood is done? DVH’s comments in Hoover were very concerning to me.
Which pitchers do you all have confidence in at this point?
Smith
Hollan
McEntire
Tygart
Morris?
Adcock? (For an inning or two?)
Then I feel like you get into the range of Coil/Bybee/Ledbetter/Foutch and it’s getting pretty risky at that point

Is the 10 run rule in effect for these tournaments?

Fairly certain it isn’t for the NCAA tournament.
It was only in effect for the regular season plus conference tournaments.

This is the only reason why I’m not bullish on this team making a deep run in the tournament.
The top end of our rotation is as good as there is in college baseball, but we’re paper thin in the bullpen and our young arms that had come on (Wood, Coil, Foutch) have faltered to the point that I don’t think the coaches have any confidence inserting them in the postseason in any sort of close game or leverage situation.
Maybe someone emerges late like McEntire did last year, but we simply don’t have the pitching depth to play out of a losers bracket if it comes to that, and our bats have cooled off lately to boot.

We can't afford any bad outings. Not gonna be any one inning relief stints. I'm not even sure I'd put Adcock on the list beyond regional play.
I really want to believe in this team but they're just gonna have to end up proving me wrong this year. We're one bad start away from getting put behind schedule and I'm not super confident this team can find pitchers for 5 games in a weekend if it had to.

I’d think the plan would be a hope of getting good innings out of Hollan and Smith in games 1 & 2 then having the Tygart/McEntire combo available for game championship game.
Maybe can use the handful of other guys for matchup type situations.
This regional setting is the concern I have. Supers it’s three games max and that’s it. A screw up in regional play and a game 4 would suck donkey dick.
I think Wood is done for the season. His velo was way down and that’s a health concern. Had also changed his delivery somewhat.

I'll feel WAY better if we can get passed that.

I think of the freshmen pitchers, Foutch might be the first one out of the pen. He didn't look to bad in that 1 inning against aTm. That ump was really squeezing pretty ridiculously.
If we have a good lead in Game 1, I hope DVH will use one of the freshmen to save the arms of the veterans.

DVH: Believes freshman pitcher Gage Wood is back on track now after a really good bullpen and he is needed to get to where they want to go.

DVH: Also notes that Hollan could come back in this Regional on Sunday night or Monday if needed

I think DVH was just pushing buttons here to get the kids confidence back. He’ll be money at buam like he has been all year.
