This is Muss' best team by a wide margin. Veteran teams for college ball are the way to go.

Without a doubt, Arkansas is likely one of the most if not THE most athletic team in the country. It has been that way off an on for a decade. We are not likely to see another team THAT athletic and talented all year...even in the tourney.
Feels great to see that while our football program is in a ditch gasping for air, our basketball program has successfully reminded everyone what time it is when we show up.

Any of you who read X noticed the inflated self worth some Purdue fans have of their program?

Was perusing and it jumped out at me.

Was surprised Bay played 0 minutes. Maybe he’s injured and I didn’t hear about it.

We played Purdue with only Mitchell on the blocks. 4 good games coming up to get Fall some minutes and Graham back to 100% before we head to Atlantis.

I think Muss will never go back to freshmen getting significant minutes after last season. It was good to put us on the map but will be more picky on the high school front going forward.

I hope you're right and I hope he doesn't either.

I wouldn't go that far. Still made the sweet 16 even with some pretty bad injury issues.

Plus, Blocker played what I would consider significant minutes in the Purdue game.

He played blocker a decent amount and he was very solid considering the competition.

Yeah, I think he probably just doesn't want to go 6 freshman in a class like last year though

Guards seem like they're much more ready to play as freshmen. I wouldn't mind getting to a point where we're taking guys like Fall to develop for years 2/3 and mainly using transfers there.

In other words I might go 2/1 in the high school ranks for guards/forwards and then do like 2/2 in the portal (or more depending on who returns from the team each year).

3 seems like a solid number for high school kids though either way. Gives you one in the frontcourt, one in the backcourt and one BPA.

The problem with HS recruits is few will stay to develop and hit the transfer portal when they don't feel the get the minutes they "deserve".

Pretty much go after the HS recruits who can contribute immediately, the one or two and done types and use the portal to fill out the rest.

This avoids being "young".

I should have clarifed, being in a position where 2-4 are on the court routinely.

The Purdue Boilermakers handled business in their exhibition game against NAIA #2 Grace College 98-51.

ERIC MUSSELMAN, ARKANSAS RAZORBACKS

quote:

Eric Musselman is one of the most aggressive roster-builders in the country. Roster turnover is difficult for some other coaches to adjust to, but it's a way of life for Musselman. He'll load up with transfer after transfer if he believes that will give him the best shot to win. He'll double-down on five-star freshmen if he believes that will give him the best shot to win. It, truly, does not matter.

He keeps backing it up in March.

Arkansas has advanced to the second weekend in three of Musselman's first four seasons. Arkansas hasn't won an SEC Championship yet under Musselman, but it's hard to find another coach who has his team ready to roll in March. Musselman still has to keep recruiting at an elite level, but he's built Arkansas into a national brand by being himself. Both the good and the not-so-good. Arkansas hasn't made it to the Final Four yet, but it certainly feels inevitable at this point and then anything can happen.
