It sounds like you conflated NBA potential with something else.
Not sure why some of you are so asshurt/obsessed with this kid but that's a you problem.
Nope. Who cares if we get NBA potential? Would you rather have that or a talented team every year?
Not potential future talent but actual basketball talent at this level.

In their current projected draft slots
Nick Smith - 1st yr 4.5 Million up to 5 mil year three
Anthony Black - 4 mil to 4.5 mil year 3
They are dumb if they don't take the money. They are probably only getting 150-200k max on their NIL deals.

Pretty much. They could get injured or God forbid an illness. Take the pay days.

Nick is getting $1M.
Black probably about $400-500K

If this is true, we need a refund for partial play. Wow

Gross. Man, not much of a return on investment. Black has been worth every penny.

LINK
Thought this tweet was interesting about the line.
Kansas is a 3.5-point favorite over Arkansas Saturday. It’s the shortest line for a one-seed in the 2nd round since 1996 when Purdue lost to Georgia as a 2.5-point favorite...

It's 100% true. Why do you think he came here instead of anywhere else and G League?
It's one of the top deals in the country. If not the top.

Smith helped recruit Black and Walsh.
Smith hit a game winner.
He has absolutely been worth it.

He wasn't going to get anything until he returned to the team.
I'll just leave it at that.

I only listed 2 off the top of my head but there's a ton of value in the prestige of pulling in that class, keeping players at home, recruits seeing these guys drafted in the lottery.
The current state of NIL with the amended transfer rules is not sustainable. Things will change. The only thing that shouldn't change is how committed we are to supporting the players who come to Arkansas.
Muss understands this.

I understand all of this, with one caveat. You should be able to expect a player of that $$$ caliber to achieve a bit more overall.
Yes, I know injuries and stuff... but dude!

Rev, the NIL money coming out of your bank account?

Nick was worth every penny. Helped recruit black and Walsh, and will be drafted high. He also gave Muss the chance to demonstrate that he "handles" injuries well. Plus, Nick has played a key role in some quality wins

Kansas is probably the third or fourth best team in its own region. Unfortunately that means if we get past Kansas, we’ll have our work cut out for us to keep advancing.
