I went and worked out, had dinner... watched after recording it because I figured we would lose by 15 or more...

I am actually more pissed that we made it a game and didn't have the intestinal fortitude to finish it off.

Yes, officiating was terrible... but we still sucked period. SHould have never been in the officials hands!

Agreed. Watched the first half with my brother. When they made that lob lay in with 1 second before half, I told him we would lose by those 2 points. That play made me so mad

Why are we so bad? Is it just missing on transfer portal guys? I fell asleep right after the second half started. It seems to me we don’t play defense and we can’t shoot. Which maybe you can get away with being bad at one but not both.

It was kind of clear that Muss didn't want to play Lykes much but Devo early foul trouble and playing terrible in the 2nd half forced his hand.

False. It might have started that way but Davis was on the bench and Lykes was in for the final several minutes

That is my point because Devo was playing so poorly

I believe it was two turnovers fairly quickly in the towards the start of the 2nd half

The simple fact is that guys like Devo and Williams, who were solid role players last year but not the focal point of the team, simply have not progressed like many expected. They can't carry a team. And when you add in the chaotic array of wide open missed shots and eradic, lazy defense, this team is pretty much doomed as it looks right now.

It seems Muss has simply struck out this go-round in the transfer market. Oh well. He will be back next year. Hope the team chemistry is a lot better. He desparately needs to bring in a real leader or two next season if/when he cuts some other guys loose.

Hate this lame arse excuse tbh.

Devo, Williams, and Notae regressing and not developing has nothing to do with the transfer portal. Or Vanover. Or KK.

Umude scored 28 points tonight and Toney 20 and we still lost. At home. To Vanderbilt.

How one can blame the transfers is beyond me. The lack of development is to blame, and it is largely on the freshmen that are now worse as sophomores in almost every phase of the game.

I feel bad that Umude got stuck on this team.

Hasn’t him and Toney played like crap the last few games until last night?

No, Umude was the leading scorer at MSU with 19 and shot better than last night.

Why is Vanover still around? He needs to go play at UCA.

I know you can’t teach size, but why do schools take flyers on kids his size that have no athletic ability? The jump ball is about 5 seconds of a 40m game. And if they put a Qualls next to him, he still wouldn’t win that.

I just know Umude and Toney were supposed to be difference makers and they looked it for the first few games then disappeared for a few. They look to be coming back.

This team doesn't move the ball well at all. Last year we were dominating with pick and rolls and making good passes to free up open shots. This year it's a ton of dribbling and taking a well defended mid range fall away jumper or getting stuffed at the rim begging for a foul. It's like Mike Anderson took control of the team. It's very annoying.

This team just doesn't have the "it" factor.... for whatever reason.
My personal opinion is the guard play. We don't defend well at the 1 or 2 and it puts the defense in a bind.... I mean how often do opposing guards get to the rim with little resistance... I could be wrong but it felt like Pippen got there whenever he wanted. And that's not a new trend, it's been the case all season.

We also don't get much movement from the guards which creates stale halfcourt offense.

I'm about done with the Chris Lykes drama already....in his mind hes a scorer.... but that's the only place. Could have gotten us to OT at the Ft line last night and choked. He's not a leader.....and Notae is a streak shooter.... not a good trait for your best 3 point threat. J. Rob has GOT to assume more of a scoring role for this team and Williams needs to become more of a presence in the paint because obviously our 7-4 dude or however tall he is gets pushed around by anyone and everyone.

Very frustrated with this team in case you can't tell.

The “it” would be Moses, I guess.

Sure, generally we see more mid majors in that role than P6 schools

For example in the ESPN and CBS mock brackets at the moment we 7/8 12 seeds as mid majors.

The teams that are last eight in that are from major conferences are seeds 9-10 on ESPN

In the 2020 NCAA tournament we saw two Power conference schools in the 12 seed but that was because they wouldn't have made the field but won their conference tournament

Why did you take so long to ask?
