Well the backups for our basketball search are much better than our football ones. I can’t see Tech outbidding us or matching if the numbers are correct, unless they pull an Auburn and give him a fully guaranteed contract.
The ones who want Beard and are ponying up know him personally just FYI

Maybe he is, likely he isn’t. But if it stand to previous coaching searches under previous administrators, the dude that gets hired will be a guy thatvwasnt previously discussed....... like at all, and then the Arkansas media will start hugging his nutz and saying that we can’t expect to hire anyone better.

IMO the CiW title is pretty meaningless when you look at history but I wouldn’t agree to it with the father-son dynamic.

While this is true, this is still a good sign. It really points to the issues being reported over giving his son the title. This doesn't look like a case in which Sampson decided Houston was a better job than Arkansas but a better place to be for the future of his son. Who knows if that ultimately works out in their favor though. As you said, I doubt that tag really means too much.
