Just a fan of captain obvious. Nothing to see here.

Anyone hearing anything about how the current team is responding? Early days but things seem to have quieted down transfer wise.

Feel like its inevitable for a few to leave.

Looking at Kyree Walker some more. Two crystal balls are in, one Arizona and one Nevada. The Arizona one was put in back in summer of 2017 and the Nevada one was put in this past February. That is very good sign, not even counting the recent good news.

Jerry was also asked if this puts us in good shape for Dalen Terry and he said a simple "yes".

The program might explode if we get a serious threat at the 4 spot next

I thought there was some kind of NCAA process to reclassify but apparently all you have to do is show up to class.

This is from last summer but don't think anything has changed

quote:

Players looking to reclassify must satisfy the same academic requirements as any prospect hoping to gain eligibility on a traditional high school schedule.

The NCAA requires prospects to have graduated from high school while completing 16 core courses to be eligible to play immediately in college. Those courses include:

-Four years of English
-Three years of math, Algebra I or higher
-Two years of natural/physical science
-One additional year of English, math or natural/physical science
-Two years of social science
-Four additional years of English, math, natural/physical science, social science, foreign language and comparative religion or philosophy

Ten of those core courses, including seven in English, math or science must be completed before a prospect’s seventh semester of high school.

Students must earn at least a 2.3 GPA in core courses to be eligible to compete immediately plus an SAT or ACT score that meets a certain threshold on a sliding scale based on the core course GPA. The higher the GPA, the lower the test score needed to qualify.

Yeah, almost all of that is just basic high school. I was kind of surprised, I thought you had to apply and get approved and a lot more than just graduating HS early and showing up to class.

Jerry Meyer said it's already pretty much a done deal he can and will reclassify to 2019.

I expect some changes coming eventually if they don't remove the one and done rule. It was an issue the NCAA talked about last summer. The only reason this really became a thing was because of the one and done rule.

Wasn't recruiting supposed to be the weakness?

If he can lock up the in-state recruits on top of cherry-picking top transfer targets, I'll be ride or die with Musselman. He would literally be everything I wanted in Mike's replacement if he can start pulling in the Monk-esque recruits we consistently lost out on.

Yes, well actually roster management but still a very good sign this early.
