I thought Otey was a bigger get too.
Didn't realize 247 has him as an 85 3 star and not even a Top 1,000 national rank.

Yeah I saw that earlier. Went back to pg 1, and saw he was a 3*. Chad needs guys who are all in.

His ratings fell quite a bit after some poor camp showings I believe. He didn’t play much cb or even defense in general this year, strictly offense.

Asa Martin visited Miami this weekend and sounds like he’ll probably end up there. Their mods think they have him locked up

Catalon visited Texas this weekend. They don’t sound overly confident that it put them in a better position to land him. Their 247 mod said he’d post a visit recap for him tomorrow.

So why is he listed at CB if he isn't playing that position and excelling at camps? I'd rather take kids that we need versus filling spots to fill em.

He reached out to Danny West to ask who to get in contact with here, there was mutual interest there but nothing ever came from it. Just brought the update here because his name was mentioned a couple times

He played CB last year, who knows the situation for his high school team, they probably needed him more on offense if I had to guess.
Just have to trust the staff and their evals, they obviously see something in him

We won’t be taking a QB transfer as of right now. We could have had a couple guys but staff doesn’t feel they’d be an upgrade. They’ll re-evaluate in May if anyone new comes available. if we take one this year at all it won’t be until then

Im trying to figure out who our back up options are if we lose out on these late signees. I see names that could fill those spots, but not all names are of the same positions. We have to hold on to adonis if we don't get brooks. We could fall apart late here at the end which i would hate.

Not a lot of names out there of people we’re currently on as backups, but probably would look at taking best available. Don’t think staff ever saw Otey as a potential to not sign, he’s been all Hog for awhile. Maybe we’ll save a spot or 2 for potential grad transfers, particularly OL, but I’m sure we learn more in the next few days.
